Javier Mendez: Sean O'Malley No Longer a Marketable Star

Haanji maybe he do SeanMally version of WWF Goodfather 🙏🏾 preach to youth no smoking no drinking-shinking no j the peen I will enjoy this yaar 🪯 #SugaSeanjitSingh 👳🏻

When your entire personality is based on smoking weed and crazy hair colors, it's hard to stay relevant if you are no longer winning
His personality has had nothing to do with weed for a couple years now—he doesn’t even smoke.

Tell us more about what you don’t know anything about.

ok, relax, sean
He just needs to paint his fingernails and toenails. He's not quite weird enough looking.
maybe some makeup and a boob job will make it work

I'm more excited to see Sean fight Sandhagen than Mossfart vs. anyone, really.

i don't get why a lot of these guys want immediate rematches after losing. if you want a long career you need to be serious and realistic. go back to the drawing board and start looking to knock 4-5 guys out. not to go up the rankings, but to rebuild your hype with the fanbase. especially a guy like Sean who the UFC will cater to and most likely allow him to handpick beatable opponents. this isn't new, this is the PrideFC style of matchmaking/marketing. it works.

He was never a big star at all, UFC are just desperately trying to push new people because there is a big lack of stars in UFC these days, his PPVs didn't do well at all. Sean doesn't have charisma, he talks as if he is half asleep, like that stoner kid who is very sleepy. If he could have gone on a crazy long winning streak with so many title defenses for many years then yes he would build that "aura" and he would become big, but he couldn't.

he's not good.
Ah, so now former UFC champs. aren’t good according to Sherdoggers.

We’re almost full circle with stating fighters who’re not good.

The guy is a former UFC champ. on a great win streak and who lost twice to one of the fighters in the divisions history, but somehow he’s not good.

Sounds like he's your idol ha ha. I hope not that would be so sad.

Still revelant? Sure. He just needs a few good wins and is young enough to make it happen.

But I agree with Javier. Sean' "stardom" was predicated on winning in exciting ways. That and his colorful, unique personality.
He's now lost 2 in a row decisively, and he's tempered his personality to a large degree (Admittedly, he's no longer interested in following Conor's lead and wants a more "normal" life...he's talked about this in interviews)

I still think Sean can be successful, but people aren't interested in him in the same way they're now interested in say, Topuria, or Pereira.

Umm, I've talked about this before. it's hard to lose something you never had or never were. Also, pink hair can't fix your personality or give you charisma.
Hey, if you already have pink hair, might as well start fucking your dog and do anime shit.

Yeah, O'Malley's non-binary fans seem to have calmed down considerably.

Why would he draw a comparison between the two?

He complains that Sean gets a rematch after losing (The belt) in a lacklustre decision.

Movsar has a 12% KO rate and a 37% finish rate overall.
O'Malley has a 67% KO rate and a 73% finish rate overall.

I'm not sure what he's not grasping about marketability, and to that end, he shouldn't concern himself with O'Malley, he should be focused on what Merab is doing.
Merab is a foreign takedown machine and if history is any indicator, he should be completely unmarketable, but here we are.

How do you know his PPVs did not do well?
