January 2026 - why no fights?

Reminds me of a potential contract issue.

...

Pay Per View points!!!!
Yes, this is definitely going to be a huge issue. The UFC fighters are going to demand an alternative to PPV points when they headline cards.

It was one of the first things I thought about when they announced "the end of PPV" *

And they have not addressed it that I am aware.

*until they decide to being back PPV for some "special card because fuck you"

The UFC never holds events the same weekend as WWE The Royal Rumble, which falls on a Saturday night. This happens every year.

There's also a large empty gap between X-Mas & New Years in which the UFC doesn't hold events for 3 weeks straight.

Topuria should be headlining the UFC 324 card in January. If he's not, their first event on CBS is gonna suck.

The very unreliable, but only, rumours so far point towards Topuria vs Pimblett headlining 324, yeah.

Dana knows everybody paying first month of increased health insurance in the US this January.

January is a dead month for the whole world. We spent all the money on Thanksgiving, Xmas and NYE. So January is recovery month.
This is absolutely true, trust me it's my birth month and I absolutely got shit on for my birthday. No party, too cold, no gifts just got some, no friends over(didn't and don't have any), just cold and sadness.

Reminds me of a potential contract issue.

So let's assume they want to kick off Paramount deal with a big star ... right?

So this big star... Poatan, Ilia, Khamzat, Tom.... they have a contract

And in that contract, they receive the BULK of their pay from...

Drumroll....

Wait for it...

Pay Per View points!!!!

So maybe they are having problems with someone like Ilia saying "OK well, how are you going to compensate me for the money I would have made from PPV points with this new streaming only model?"

Basically he won't answer anything on it but says bonuses are going up is all basically.

Ilir vs Paddy or Justin

As for the ppv points I think they are gonna have to severely increase the fighters purse or maybe give them a ratings bonus or something
