I disagree that there is an instinctual racist or xenophobic element. I think that is taught, not ingrained. But I don't feel like opening that can of worms right now, ITT.
See and that skepticism seems a lithle misanthropic in my eyes. That's not my instinct to turn your criticism back onto you, but just assuming the worst or the bad, without, in my opinion, sufficient evidence for it seems like a bias towards disliking people/misanthropic. No offense intended.

Well, you appear to agree that many of these people are feeling / acting out of ignorance, I guess I'm just a bit more skeptical for some people as to their motivations, much more so for the people who go completely overboard in their reaction. It's this subset of people who go nuts with the reaction that I have most issue with. I don't really think it's reaching that much to notice this ridiculous, overboard reaction (calls to violence, etc.) and take issue with it. We don't have to agree on this point, yes.
