Yeah I always remember him best for The Rules of Attraction. Very fun adaptation of my favourite Bret Easton Ellis book, where van der Beek plays Patrick Bateman's brother

Van der Beek also made good appearances on Bret Easton Ellis's podcast where he came off very well. There are a few clips on youtube. RIP to James
