News Jalin Turner Retires After Loss @ UFC 313

That's not that much money, and he's going to be making less unless he wins.

He's probably making like 120k a year after expenses and taxes. Good money by desk job standards, but not so good that it'd be ridiculous to leave. Could get a bozo job in Silicon Valley and make that by his second or third year.

Where does one pick up a bozo job without any real education and make 200k+ a year in the 2nd year?

I really don't think he's a very good fighter at all.

Not a bad decision here for his future.

I feel like you ignored the part where I said he's not bringing home 200k(your purse is not your income). A large chunk of that goes to his management and gym facilities. 200k in fighting isn't the same thing as 200k in an office job. That's not to mention the huge tax deduction that happens prior to giving up a big % of his purse.

And I am being nice since I am not taking into account Turner's severe injury history which eats massively into his income. He does not have benefits.

Turner has the functional income of someone that makes 100k+...which is very possible to do in a big city with "no education". I am fairly certain he has education, and I think you're overlooking the part where he could get education.

Many people who make Turner's money in professional sports retire at 30.

Yeah, but you said after taxes right. 120k after taxes you said.

So making 120k after taxes in a bozo job in the 2nd year without any education sounds pretty awesome. I know US salaries are much higher than EU but didn't know it was that good.

In case I am not making myself clear in regards to Turner's money.

Your purse is not your income. A fighters income is after the deductions he gets from paying his management etc with his purse.

You said he probably makes 120k after expenses and taxes and that he could make the same kind of money in a bozo job in the 2nd year which sounds awesome.

More fighters should consider walking away at a younger age. You see what your future is with all these fucked up fighters who 'gave it their all" to only get payed back with brain damage. If you've got a stalled out career that's going nowhere, this is the wrong line of work to just be showing up for paychecks in your 30's.

No he couldn't have. That frame would never succeed at 155lbs for obvious reasons and at 170lbs where he's more naturally suited he fled the division after getting his shit rocked.
Potential is Potential my friend

His issue wasn't talent and Potential though

It was his own mind and soul

He wasn't a true fighter
