I do wonder whether we might see a more legit fighter take this route in MMA espeically, say someone who's still not tied down to a long contract and is only fighting in small orgs becoming a youtube celeb to the degree they can promote their own matches.

Viddal Riley could do it... he's KSI's Boxing coach but also has a pretty successful Youtube channel 1.14 Subscribers and get's his face about in that Youtube scene a lot...Boxes Pro 4-0 currently, not sure what his promotion is saying though.

Yeah because he gets goofballs like you constantly talking about him. I don’t know why any mma fan really cares about him. If you’re a fan of his then whatever, but he is not an mma fighter and no one really has a reason to be talking about him in this forum

Boxing is a bit different as someone like that could probably get a good deal with an existign decent sized promoter but MMA is much more a promoters market so there could be more incentive to try and get around that.

Honestly someone like MVP might have been better off trying that.
 
Not sure about Genius, but he's a Gen Z/Millennial internet shock value celebrity. It is definitely working financially. He knows how to be a douche bag and get everyone's attention.

Not really far off from what Conor was doing.

I'm probably of a more white skin tone than you and i've never been blamed for something i haven't done. (Certainly not because i'm white)
