Media Jake Ellenberger thinks Khamzat is already the 2nd best fighter on earth

he is coming of a career threatening covid scare. Don't think he is ducking, just being cautious in his first fight back, and planning to compete specifically at 170. People jump to silly conclusions way too quick.

Silly conclusions lol.. you Khamzat fans are ridiculous.

His last fight was literally at 185. And Khamzat claimed he wanted to compete at Middleweight too. He said this many times…

Khamzat also recently said hes 100% now. So why duck a huge fight against a former Middleweight champ? Its an obvious duck and his team knows Luke is a terrible matchup for him all around. Which is why they chose a much easier opponent against Jingliang

But keep making excuses for your hype train.

#12 ranked welterweight which gives him a top 5/10 opponent next, or an unranked jobber who hasn't won a fight in 4 years

What a tough choice

You believe in UFC rankings? lol

If youre a popular fighter like Khamzat and get a win against a big name like Rockhold that automatically puts you in top contention to challenge for belt. There was alot to gain in that fight but obviously Khamzats team saw the risk to high for the reward.

Yes, the can hasn't won in 4 years

Beating him does nothing for GOATmaev

So a few months ago, Chael posted this video where he said a former top UFC welterweight who trained with Khamzat in Vegas told him that he was every bit as legit as his hype, and would already give Usman a rough night.

Anyways some dude on Twitter called T Mac MMA (his account now suspended) said the guy in question was Jake Ellenberger, who told him in person that Khamzat is already the #2 170lber in terms of ability and could soon surpass Usman in that as well. Said he saw Khamzat go with ranked UFC 185lbers (I assume Strickland/Tavares since they train at Xtreme Couture) and dominate them.

Can't wait to see Khamzat obliterate the communist then destroy the likes of Colby and Leon

Was this story that Chael heard about pre-COVID Khamzat or post-COVID Khamzat?
<6>

He has the potential to be. But it's way too soon to say he's the second best.

Trumpers and people alike should be banned from this site... there's already enough stupidity around here...

What is it with lefties and banning speech? Just use your ignore button, commie.

As far as Khamzat goes, no one has any idea how good he is. He had a fun summer where he fought, and then he's just sorta stopped doing the fighting part.

yeah he does seem to have the skillset and qualities, i believe jake. however, i'd like to see how he performs now, after the surgery and the things he went through lately, in an actual fight.

No. Think about it… So Khamzats gets offered a huge fight on a Silver Platter against a former champion with a big name and he turns it down lol what??? It probably would have been a main or comain fight too.

Its an obvious duck. Rockhold poses threats for him on the feet and ground. Rockhold has a glass chin everyone knows that but only people that caught him are good strikers Jan, Yoel, Bisping, Vitor.

If you think Khamzat has striking as good as them you are delusional. Luke would have tooled him on the feet and his BJJ poses alot of problems on ground too. Luke was a nightmare matchup for Khamzat and he knows it
He lost time due to COVID, so now he’s focused on the WW division. He said so before the Luke fight was even brought up. It’s the smart thing to do.

You sound like a Khamzat hater. New prospects are good for the sport kid

Luke is perfect. Extremely chinny - the breeze from a jab could rock him at this point - and has a huge name still. It would also play well in the foreign media since Luke is so proto-typically american, they'd love to show it as another victory of islam over western culture.

Opinions are like assholes...some are bleached.

Training is not fighting. Based on what I've seen of Khamzat I would love to continue to watch him fight and see how far he goes.

Way to immediately bring politics into the OP. Khamzat is better than that 'communist?' He supports Kadryov which is it's own can of worms. Leave that shit for the war room.

There's no doubt that Khamzat is both incredibly skilled and powerful. These aren't the only things that make a champion however. What we don't know about Khamzat are three things; his cardio, his chin/durability, and his clutchness.

Maybe he'll maul all of his opponents en route to becoming the goat like many think he will. What's more likely however, is that he'll have to venture into deep waters with some of the more experienced killers. Will he gas and wilt in the face of adversity like Shahbazyan did against Brunson, or will he take over in the 5th round with the score tied like Adesanya did when he fought Gastelum? Will he freeze up in big fights like Wonderboy and Romero historically have, or will he enter kill mode and go into the octagon ready to feast like Jon did when he took the belt from Shogun?

We don't know. There are a lot of variables. Let's see what he has to offer.
