Jackie Chans estranged lesbian daughter homeless due to Homophobic parents

So moral of the story seems to be that Chan is a shitty dad and as a result his kid grew up to be a shitty adult.

Pretty much. If he wanted his kids to work hard maybe he should have raised them to work hard.

They look strung out. She is 18 with a 30 year old girlfriend.

Get a job maybe?

Who’s house did they film that on while “homeless” “basically sleeping under a bridge?”

Are we sure that's all there is to this?

I mean, if I had a rich father I'd expect him to at least give me SOME kind of advantage in the world.

That's what being a parent means. You do for your kids. You don't just pop them out and leave them on the street and say, "Good luck!"

I agree but she did denounce him years ago. Now all of a sudden, she wants a handout because she is Jackie Chan's daughter. You cant have it both ways. You have to establish some type of boundary. Like do you accept this individual as a family member and are willing to be in their life or do you move on and do your own thing.

There was a time when I had a problem with my family, I thought about going solo and long story short, problem was resolved and they helped me with my problem. Today I am able to help them with work and finances. So now I get to complete the cycle of give and take.

The daughter never offered her affection to her father. Disregarding him as some pump and dump celebrity. Chan man is not perfect but she could have developed some understanding for his plight as a mega celebrity and offered to understand the fact that he lacks parenting skills and would be willing to meet him half way since at the time, Jackie was trying to form a bond and was not given the opportunity to do so.

Now she comes crawling back when she needs him as oppose to want. She shows that she is just another fake person. That and like fucking get a job. Two of them can get a studio easy if they both work minimum wage jobs.

That makes sense. I'm not saying that he's totally to blame. But it does seem like he's SOME to blame. Perhaps if he had just acted like a real dad from the beginning, when they were just tiny children, then all of this could've been avoided.

What I think is a shame is that Jackie used to come off as the coolest, nicest, more affable guy. He just seemed to radiate warmth. But in the last decade or so a darker side to that dude has been exposed, on a few different levels.

Lolol. I like how she introduces herself as Jackie Chan’s daughter.

I agree with you on all accounts. Jackie says he wants his kids to make it on their own. I don't agree with that 100 percent. After all, I want my children to receive something from me because that's my way of expressing my love and affection. Otherwise no point having kids since you are not establishing any unique bonds that come with some type of perks to show love to your very own off springs.

True on the last part as well. One of my favorite cartoon show was Jackie Chan adventure with his uncle and niece. The first villain which was Valmont was a pretty badass British mob boss but still comedic as well. At times, Valmont had some sick Kung Fu moves as well. Fun show but this past 7 years or so, I have also noticed him having some shitty behaviors as well.

But yeah, regarding the video, what really pissed me off about it is the fact that, she said something along the lines of " My homophobic parents disowned me..." this is bullshit! Absolute rubbish! She disowned him in public and added some insults that should have been done in private.

She was never an unacknowledged daughter. I remember when she was born (holy shit I am old) and the papers named her the Little Dragon Girl (Jackie's Chinese stage name contains the word dragon). Her mom was a working actress at the time and Jackie was married, had a family, and had other rumoured women and kids. Chan did end up acknolwedging the affair.

At the time, Elaine Ng, Etta's mom, declared that she would take care of the child without Jackie in their lives. This seems to have derailed her career.

It seems the family don't have very high emotional stability as they have been in the news often in the last few years because of how ungovernable Etta has seemed and how disfunctional the family is. Off the top of my head I remember stories about theft, intimidation, police calls and suicide attempts. Etta's sexual orientation might be one source of conflict, but it is by no means the only one.

Few ppl know that in CHINA Jackie Chan is a straight up gangster. His gimmick is the shy funny asian guy in the states. Nothing can be further from the truth...

The mom answered and told her daughter to find a job and not use jackies name

Coconuts, Elaine denounced her daughter’s claims, saying she needs to find a job.

“I feel that if they have no money, they should go find work,” she said. “They shouldn’t film a clip telling others they are broke and who Etta’s father is. People all over the world work hard and don’t rely on someone else’s fame to get money

Her being homeless is about as much jackies fault as her being gay is.

shes an adult and can make her own living. jackie doesnt need to do anything for her with his money

Just want to point out hand outs to your kids dont make emotional bonds. Neither way is right, you can give your kids everything and they hate you and you give them nothing and they will hate you.
