There will be people here who will get offended at someone holding Pac in such high regard. Don't listen to it. That's a pretty nice article.
I hold Manny in pretty high regard. IMO he was without a doubt the most consistently exciting fighter of the last decade. He's fast, deceptively strong and tough as an iron nail. And under Roach he developed the ability to box behind his jab (sometimes) and to use his talents - agility - to create the angles he needs and keep himself out of danger.
But for all of the great things he actually does, some of the reasons I've heard are baffling.
"There has never been a southpaw as adept in the use of angles to create punching opportunities as Pacquiao. There might not have been any boxer to date with the same understanding and discipline in footwork."
His lack of discipline is what got him KO'd by Marquez. Does Manny have quick feet? Sure, and he does know how to use angles better than a lot of people. But to say his understanding and discipline of footwork is the best in history is a hell of a statement. I'd feel the exact same way if someone came in here saying that Mayweather was a offensive dynamo; some things just aren't true.
