what kind of knee injury is bad enough it keeps you from fighting in 3 weeks yet u can begin training mere days after ufc 199?

he says he got his knee injury days before ufc 198 yet here he is hours before ufc 198

I call shenanigans

What? Where did you study medicine?

Its a meniscus tear. So I'm assuming he chose not to get surgery and instead getting regenokine or stem cell injections.

Plenty of injuries require a few weeks of rest.
You must not watch any sports at all

Ts is a fatass who never trained.

well he got it a week before ufc 198, why was he going around throwin kicks then? he is lucky his leg didn't flew out in to the crowd then

You're talking about a guy who got his arm broken by Roger Gracie, didn't tap, tucked his floppy arm into his belt and went on to win that match on points.

Some of these 'professional' fighters could sure learn a thing or two about toughness around here. Too bad more of them don't read the forums.

Your leg wont fly off from a meniscus tear Doctor. Also, he said he didn't know about the injury until after the fight. Why are you even questioning a pro fighter?

what a dumb thread.... Jacare most likely will get the next TS, so there is no reason to risk his opportunity in short notice fight, he is also not at 100%

Seriously, what kind of injury keeps you from fighting but then you can start training AFTER the event? If he can start training after then he can fight before, right?!

I got an offer from the UFC to replace injured Chris Weidman in a middleweight title fight at UFC 199, on June 4, against Luke Rockhold, the current champion. Everybody knows my desire to fight for the title and, if possible, in a rematch with Rockhold. However, I can’t let the emotion superimpose the reason.

One week before my fight with Vitor Belfort, I felt a pain in my right knee

Don't you love how sports fans all of sudden become medical experts?

Even if he was healed up by UFC 199 -In which its likely he still wouldn't be 100%- that's 3 weeks of training he misses out on that he could be using to train specifically for Rockhold.

I'm gonna make this simple for you, TS: Why in hell would Jacare take the biggest fight of his life on 3 weeks notice and shortly after peaking for another fight. Given his age he likely won't get a second tsitle shot.

No, because u have to train hard for at least 6 weeks leading up to the fight

The biggest problem with a small/moderate meniscus tear is pain. With a more severe tear your knee can lock up or give out. Pretty sure it would affect a planted leg during a kick with body/hip turn.

Maybe he had a minor tear and it got worse as he trained more and more leading up to and fighting Vitor?
