Izzy Can’t Be Compared To Anderson Silva Now

Izzy was always the mini-boss to Anderson being the Mike Tyson Punch-out final boss.

Izzy needs opponents to step into his power shots for them to go out, Anderson could knock out a LHW champion backpedaling with a jab.
It was never a comparison, people just pretended it was.
 
This fight all but confirms that Silva is still the MW GOAT. Izzy has looked sus in most of his championship fights minus the Costa and second Alex fight. Silva looked like he was in another realm for 90% of his championship fights, and showed the heart of the champion in his submission against Chael.
 
Adesanya was never going to pass Anderson, I don’t care how many people disagree with me or how many no profile pic adesanya fans respond to me, he lost to romero and Whittaker in the rematch, couple that with losing to pereira and Strickland officially who did he beat? Costa, who lost to romero, Whittaker the first time, definitely great, Marvelous marvin LOL, Jared cannonier and pereira. That’s not nearly enough and anyone looking at it objectively can agree

Izzy has the precision and technique. Maybe not as much creativity in the strikes

What really separates them is the physicality though. Izzy can only really generate stopping power from counter hooks. Anderson could hurt you from anywhere with any strike.

All you need to say is

in PRIME Anderson did not lose, in PRIME izzy has lost 2 of his last 3, and 3 of his last 7.
 
I said this same thing the other day but without this loss added on to it. I totally agree, plus Anderson won at lhw several times including vs the one fight removed from holding the title Forrest Griffin, and those were actually some of his best performances.
Adesanya simply doesn’t have the distance mastery or the mastery of timing like Anderson did (and at times still kinda does) He is the closest anyone has come for sure, but Anderson is just fucking special.

It kinda sucks for Israel to have to feel like he has to be like Anderson, but the similarities are also pretty undeniable considering they are Champions of the same division.
 
While Izzy has proven to be great, he never had an aura of invincibility like Silva did during his reign.
 
It was always a ridiculous conversation regardless of the outcome of this fight.

Not only did nobody in the UFC beat Anderson until he was 38, he didn't even have a single disputed decision.

At the age of 34, Izzy has already lost 3 fights and been involved in 2 highly controversial decisions.

He should have lost to a 70-year-old Romero. He nearly lost to a blown up WW midget Gastelum. And of course he had a competitive fight with Anderson's corpse itself.

He's simply never been as remotely dominant as Anderson was. Anderson was still competitive well beyond his prime because his prime was well beyond his peers.

If he fights Romero, Rockhold, Mousasi and Jacare he would have done even worse than Weidman did. None of the champs at MW be considered the GOAT IMO.

Anderson and TRtor kill Romero. KO him worse than Feijao did. Romero is timid agianst faster guys, He wouldn't throw a strike against vitor and just shell up in fear of getting ktfo....and silva would pick him apart ala izzy
 
izzy can be compared even more to silva since he lost to his own version bisping!
 
This just proves people who can box can beat GOATS. Weidman beat Anderson with his boxing. Sean beats Izzy with his boxing.

but people are seriously underestimating izzy, silva was from an era where you can win the mw belt just from beating chris leben and rich franklin, and look at his undefeated run there the quality is nowhere near the level of competition izzy faces today

This cannot, and will not, be expunged.

He can have a rematch, win a rematch, it simply doesn’t matter at this stage. The man lost against SEAN STRICKLAND in a kickboxing match in 4oz gloves.

This ‘elite MMA fighter’ and ‘GOAT contender’, also got knocked out by a man who had like 5 MMA fights.

Face facts. This man is a kick-boxer who learned a bit of takedown defense. The idea that people even consider him in the same league as Anderson Silva, is an embarrassment and a shame.

This is just brilliant. He also went Ronda, and ran away from questions from the media, on his own home turf! Shameful.
