About 6 weeks ago a woman moved in to the unit directly below mine. In all that time i've never met her or even seen her face, she does have very nice tanned legs tho', but thats another story i suppose.
I've heard her when she is on the phone, very loud, swears like a trooper, and sounds a little aggressive tbh.

Anyway about a week ago i noticed that she had a little animal hutch in her tiny backyard, and it had a guinea pig in it. I can see her yard when i look out the bedroom window.
She has been away for at least 2 days and 2 nights now, maybe 3. I noticed a couple of days back that i couldn't see any food in the cage. However i thought she must of put some in the end of the hutch which is enclosed by walls, the rest of the cage has wire around it.
Earlier today i was looking at the guinea pig from the window and it's body seemed to be having a seizure, it looked really awful.
About 4 hrs later i noticed it was in the same position and hadn't moved in all that time.

I'd been wondering what i should do as i was really concerned for the little thing. However i felt uncomfortable going into her backyard, plus like i said, she sounds loud and aggressive.[i have no bollocks!]
So i farted around for a while and then thought, bugger it, i have to go down and check on it.
I went down, opened up the top of the hutch and there he/she was, laying in it's own filth. About a third of his body was yellow with urine and he was all messy at his rear end too. And stank!
I grabbed him a brought him upstairs and bathed him to get rid of the piss. All that urine would of been burning against his skin i expect. He squeaked quite a bit as he didn't like the water of course.

He seems very thin, GPs usually look kinda chubby don't they. Unfortunately he can't seem to be able to move! He just lays on his left side, when i try to put him more upright he just falls back on his side.
I can't get him to eat anything, not that i have much of what these animals eat anyway.
So he is in the bedroom on a towel with a tea towel over the top of him. He has some grass, a little bit of corn, and a couple of cranberries[apparently they like those.]
I don't know what's wrong with him of course, i expect he's starving and got to the point of no return and won't eat. If this is the reason, then i would assume it's a long, extremely painful death.

I don't have any money to take him to the vet either, i'm absolutely broke. I just thought if he is gonna die he may as well be inside in some comfort, clean and dry and not soaking in urine.
Actually i just realized that tonight will make it 3 days and 3 nights, i made a mistake earlier.
How the fuck can someone leave a little animal, or any animal alone without food for this long? These little pocket-pets don't have much body fat reserves to rely on when foods not available do they?
She has really pissed me off! The only excuse i'd accept from her is that she's been in hospital after a car crash or something like that. You don't starve an animal. As an owner of any animal you are it's god, you're in charge of it's universe so to speak.
I just felt i had an obligation to try and help an animal in distress, even if i did go on to her property and nick her pet!

I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

You're a hero TS. Try to force feed the little guy! Don't let him give up! Put out several different types of food. Maybe something will grab his attention before he passes. Keep poking him and nudging him a bit to try and get him moving

Take him to an animal shelter, dont they help with these kinds of things?

Lots of people shouldn't be allowed to have pets......or kids.

Give him/her a bit of banana. That should get the appetite going, if there's hope; that's like dessert for them.. Lettuce (something other than iceberg).

And water... hopefully you have the water bottle they use.

What is it with white women and guinea pigs? Some hidden rage right there.

When my piggies were ill and not eating I’d put pedilite (that stuff for babies) in a dropper and force it in that way. I’d soak their pellets to a mush and force those down too.

Is he pooping or peeing?

A floppy pig isn’t a good sign /:

How do her teeth look? They need to be fed foods that will grind down their teeth because they constantly grow like rabbits do.
Try to feed her broccoli or bell peppers if you have any. Don't keep feeding her corn. Guinea pigs need vitamin c it from an outside source. When she was getting fed, they were probably just feeding her timothy hay.

Dude get it fed somehow, take it to someone who knows something if not a vet.
God bless you.

Whole lotta guinea pig experts up in this piece.

Gut stasis could be a problem if it hasn’t eaten in awhile or hasn’t been fed a proper diet. And it can be deadly.

Your best bet would be to find a local animal rescue. If you don’t have the ability to take the pig to the vet, they could. You can google or reach out on local Facebook groups to ask if there’s a local rescue.

I had a kitty go into liver failure, after having her rehydrated at the vet, I had to hydrate her with a dropper for days.

It didn't matter, though, she didn't make it. I was pretty heartbroken.

Yeah. Unfortunately they don’t always make it. But I’ve gotten my piggy through it when he went into a depression, and my rabbit at least three times . . . He’s a sensitive bun lol don’t judge him.

Without any professional input, I think a bit of syringe feeding would be my next move.

A little liquid at first, then something more substantial, like mushed banana or canned pumpkin.

I forgot, you can also feed guinea pigs baby food. Or you can make your own out of whatever you have. Just mash up the food, duh lol.

But water would be most important.

Get a small box and cut a hole in it about the size of a garden hose, cut a 3 foot section of the garden hose, put lil hammy in the box and duct tape it shut, duct tape one end of the hose to the box and 1 end to your muffler; make sure to seal both ends well, start the car and wait about 15 minutes and then bury the little guy....basically put him out of his misery in a humane fashion
