About 6 weeks ago a woman moved in to the unit directly below mine. In all that time i've never met her or even seen her face, she does have very nice tanned legs tho', but thats another story i suppose.
I've heard her when she is on the phone, very loud, swears like a trooper, and sounds a little aggressive tbh.
Anyway about a week ago i noticed that she had a little animal hutch in her tiny backyard, and it had a guinea pig in it. I can see her yard when i look out the bedroom window.
She has been away for at least 2 days and 2 nights now, maybe 3. I noticed a couple of days back that i couldn't see any food in the cage. However i thought she must of put some in the end of the hutch which is enclosed by walls, the rest of the cage has wire around it.
Earlier today i was looking at the guinea pig from the window and it's body seemed to be having a seizure, it looked really awful.
About 4 hrs later i noticed it was in the same position and hadn't moved in all that time.
I'd been wondering what i should do as i was really concerned for the little thing. However i felt uncomfortable going into her backyard, plus like i said, she sounds loud and aggressive.[i have no bollocks!]
So i farted around for a while and then thought, bugger it, i have to go down and check on it.
I went down, opened up the top of the hutch and there he/she was, laying in it's own filth. About a third of his body was yellow with urine and he was all messy at his rear end too. And stank!
I grabbed him a brought him upstairs and bathed him to get rid of the piss. All that urine would of been burning against his skin i expect. He squeaked quite a bit as he didn't like the water of course.
He seems very thin, GPs usually look kinda chubby don't they. Unfortunately he can't seem to be able to move! He just lays on his left side, when i try to put him more upright he just falls back on his side.
I can't get him to eat anything, not that i have much of what these animals eat anyway.
So he is in the bedroom on a towel with a tea towel over the top of him. He has some grass, a little bit of corn, and a couple of cranberries[apparently they like those.]
I don't know what's wrong with him of course, i expect he's starving and got to the point of no return and won't eat. If this is the reason, then i would assume it's a long, extremely painful death.
I don't have any money to take him to the vet either, i'm absolutely broke. I just thought if he is gonna die he may as well be inside in some comfort, clean and dry and not soaking in urine.
Actually i just realized that tonight will make it 3 days and 3 nights, i made a mistake earlier.
How the fuck can someone leave a little animal, or any animal alone without food for this long? These little pocket-pets don't have much body fat reserves to rely on when foods not available do they?
She has really pissed me off! The only excuse i'd accept from her is that she's been in hospital after a car crash or something like that. You don't starve an animal. As an owner of any animal you are it's god, you're in charge of it's universe so to speak.
I just felt i had an obligation to try and help an animal in distress, even if i did go on to her property and nick her pet!
I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
