I've been awake for 38 hours

I fucking hate sleeping. I have to be up in four and half hours for work and I still don't want to go to sleep. I fight it for as long as I can, then I eventually have to sleep and then I'm exhausted the next day but I rinse and repeat until my body takes over and demands a 10-12 hour coma to recharge my batteries and then I just fucking start it all over again.

Sleep is a waste of fucking time. Why haven't we evolved past it yet?

I stay up around 26 - 30 hours every weekend. Longest was about 36 hours once when I worked all night, then stayed up all day, then towards night time my wife had to go to the ER and had emergency surgery. Bad experience.

sigh... its so nice being done with school

i have to call shinanigans on some of you guys anything over 2 days is unbelievable without even the smallest nap. I too wish i never had to sleep... but it feels so damn good. i could honestly sleep 10 hours every night

72 hours. I stayed up all night one night, then the next night I went with my family to a friends house quite far away, and we were up all night for another night. At that point, I had trouble falling asleep because my body was aching.

Without the aid of drugs I can usually pull an all nighter and go past the 24 hour mark. Mainly if I have been drinking. Usually for me when I start to get near the 30 hour mark I cant fight it anymore and crash out

I get the same type of weird visual disturbances or hallucinations you were talking of. Seeing stuff in the corner of me eye that goes away when you go to look at it.

One time when I got really bad sun burn and couldn't sleep properly I full on hallucinated that a spider crawled up my wall. My eyes kind of saw spots like when a camera flash goes off, I saw the spider crawl up the wall but it was "behind" the spot I was seeing.

I sat up in my bed and kind of sketched out because it looked huge, as the spot faded from my vision so did the imaginary giant spider. Spun me out big time , I think I was about 13 or 14 at the time

I haven't done this but during BUD/S hell week (navy SEAL training) they stay awake for 96 hours straight.

Haha, this is what I do!! I really need to get a better sleeping pattern, cause walking around like a zombie every day just feels like crap.

I've probably gone for around 50 hours without sleep before.

I completely agree.

I tell people exactly this and get looked at like im nute. Nothing bugs me more when someone doesnt want to do something because they need their sleep. FUCK!! That seriously makes me mad. How mentally weak.

Sleeping is so good. Waking up and then falling back asleep is a delight. Sleeping is anything but a waste of time, it's a privilege as far as I'm concerned.

I once worked for 96 hours straight. It was horrible. By the end I thought I was a hummingbird of some kind.

Post 3 days of lots of drugs and entirely straight by this point I finally gave up to sleep and saw Santa Claus in the curtains of a boat I'd been staying on for a long weekend.

Hope you do well on your paper.

Like 30 hours or so. I hated it. I sleep as much as I possibly can, but hate falling asleep. Right now I've been in the library studying for like 6 hours after sleeping a lot yesterday and im already hating it.

When I was a kid, it was kind of a hobby of mine and some friends to stay awake as long as possible during the summer holidays.
My record was about 43 hours, never got to 48 which was my goal.
It's easy to stay awake if you go fishing or stay outside in general. Watching a movie is a big mistake.

Yea how dare they sleep! The nerve of some people, right?!

102 hours (4 and a half days). Though I'm not going to go into detail in what I was on.

Working 2 jobs at the time and being young and wanting to party, working both jobs each day on the weekend and partying afterwards. I think I went 70 hours then fell asleep for like 20 hours.
Don't remember seeing anything just remembering near the end I felt like I was going to die.

Damn straight!. For me I stayed up the longest was maybe 17-18hrs thats it

I almost made it to 48 hours one time.

For like a semester in grad school I lived off of energy drinks, alcohol, and adderall. I averaged around 3 or 4 hours of sleep per night. My body basically shut down after the semester and I was in bed or the hospital over xmas and new years break.
