Wow you're right, he said that he paid him back through his retainer and that Trump knew about the Stormy Daniels situation but maybe not the specifics. Is he fucking stupid or is there another reason Giuliani would say this?

It's really astonishing how these people are willing to go down this path in American history, where odds are they will be painted as villains and traitors. Guiliani specifically could have just sat by and watched from the sidelines, instead he took a life raft and climbed onto the already sinking titanic.

This is really strange though, is there another angle that I'm not seeing? They can't be this stupid to admit that and then for Fox to release the video.

So Rudy is claiming that Trump repaid Cohen by keeping him on a $35,000 retainer, that is their story now? Somehow Trump repaid Cohen while at the same time not knowing Cohen paid Stormy Daniels the $130,000?<Huh2>

Also seemed like Rudy had 2-3 too many wines at dinner tonight, or is taking some strong meds or something, he was incoherent at times. He is going to be a liability, the Mueller team is licking its chops.

Correct with the exception that Rudy said that Trump knew about the payment of hush money to Stormy but not the specifics...

I construed it as Rudy saying that he knew that Cohen would take care of things like this, but not about the specifics, but it did seem like he was back tracking a bit soon after he got the words out. Hannity seemed genuinely surprised (not a good sign that Rudy was on message) saying "oh, I didn't know that" and "who decided that," but I don't watch Hannity enough to know his tells.

I can see where a lawyer wouldn't need to disclose specifics to their client but according to the American Bar Association they do need to inform them.

"I said, 'That's how he's repaying it, with a little profit and a little margin for paying taxes,'" said Giuliani, who added that Trump "didn’t know about the specifics of [the payment], as far as I know, but he did know about the general arrangement that Michael would take care of things like this. Like I take care of things like this for my clients. I don’t burden them with every single thing that comes along."
