It's laughable that people think Yoel won.

These Yoel threads are giving me a good laugh this morning.

"Yoels defense is amazing broo!"

Pretty easy to have 'amazing" defense when you're turtled up throwing 0 strikes for half a round at a time, with a 10 second blast every 2 minutes.

"Yoel is the best MW bro!"

Yoel has cheated in more ways than any other fighter in recent history. Multiple missed weight cuts, PEDS, stool gate, faking groin shots to take breaks, yet none of it helped him against Bobby Knuckles.

"Yoel won bro!!!!"

Lol what fight were you watching? Because the fight I saw had Whitaker much more active and pressuring, breaking Yoel's cardio and spirit until Whittaker started losing feeling in his arm from the early break, and lost his most powerful weapon. Even then he still was more active and aggressive then Yoel, to the point where Yoel pulled a Colby and start panic wrestring

Was a pleasure to watch Bobby Knuckles pick Yoel apart and beat that ass, and I can see now why GSP wanted nothing to do with him.

Respect to both fighters, but Whittaker is an absolute monster, and rightfully won last night, 1,2,4. As for Yoel, I want to see him win a fight without some form of cheating/skirting the rules. And we're not even gonna get into how unnatural his recovery time is.....

Because ppl are impressed by him for some good reasons.
Is that what makes laugh so hard ?

I'm (i) not even a fan of his, (ii) a fan of Whittaker, and (iii) I had Robert winning.

That said, how exactly is he "overrated"? Who beats Jacaré, Machida, Kennedy, Weidman, Rockhold?

Yoel haters are ridiculous. At least you can see who is lowly trash and dismiss their future opinion.

He's great but he's also very dirty. Like Jon Jones.
So we call him a dirty fighter for throwing oblique kicks, then go back ignoring how Whittaker was spamming oblique kicks, grabbing the fence, and nutshoting Yoel? Oh wait, it was .2lbs that gave him such an immense edge in that fight?

The hypocritism is outstanding..

Considering Whittaker himself said he busted his hand up early in the first round, you're basically saying whittaker was breaking yoels spirit for barely a few minutes.

I wanted Whittaker to win this and i felt the fight was a draw, but some of these points you're trying to make are way off.

Yoel won the fight. It was very close and Whittaker deserves a ton of credit, his cardio and recovery was amazing. But, he lost the fight and Yoel is far from over-rated.

Semantics.

Very clearly, Whittaker was dominating that fight u til he lost feeling in his arm.

I love how everyone is pretending that the first 2 rounds didn't happen now.

It's possible to make an argument for a Draw, And i actually scored it a draw first but the more i look the fight from a distance, the less i think Romero won it.
I like both fighters ad the title wasn't on the line so it's a bit meaningless but it's just dumb how some are acting indignant as if whittaker hadn't won three rounds.
That 5th had a lot of shock value but it's not as straight forward a 10-8

It should have been a draw.

After Whittaker broke his power arm. Before that, Knuckles was running a striking clinic. For reference, see Yoels eye.
So.... Romero showing damage = beaten ass but Whittaker having a broken arm = winner?

Based on the rules whittaker won, he won more rounds it's as simple as that, who came closest to ending the fight, you have to give that to yoel, but in the current rule set it was a good decision.

They think he won because he dropped whitt and rocked him twice witch pretty much when he dropped him he won the fight the rule set is the onlything that saved whittaker but he did land alot of strikes definatley should of had some kind of upper hand on cards but whittaker edged it out on the points i gues broken hand effed knee and getting kncoked out and rocked and bloodyed up yea cause he would have ben the one to make it home alive.....he won the sport but romero woulda won the war i guess

From a UFC scoring perspective Whittaker won a close fight. It could have been a draw if Yoel got a 10-8 round at best.

The shit Romero pulled with the "groin shot" though simply pisses me off. This guy has pulled dirty shit in many of his fights. The look on Dan the ref's face when he walked over was priceless, you could tell he didn't believe it any more than anyone else did.

Imagine the tone of the fight without Romero getting an almost 5 minute break mid stream.

How many times has he pulled this shit now?

Misses weight and cheats. He simply doesn't deserve another shot at Whittaker ever.
