It's insane that Sakuraba actually beat Randleman

So Vitor tried to swarm, could not finish and then he got picked apart? Saku had his number. Vitor is not the first guy to break a hand in a fight, that is not the whole story.

Vitor at that stage as well otherwise showed he was not a bad wrestler at all, I think thats the underrated aspect of Saku's game, maybe because he was fighting much larger opponents who could out wrestle him via size.

Ironically as well the classic Pride enviroment with knees on the ground did not suit him, in the UFC today at WW he's be fighting both guys his own size and be able to scamble for those single legs alot more.

You look at Saku's sucess and hi sub wins werent just over wrestlers, they were against guys like Renzo and Newton who had serious submission ability themselves.

Kazushi-Sakuraba-and-Mirko-Crocop.jpg can someone who has been watching mma for a long time pkease explain to me why Sakuraba took fights against dangerous heavyweights but jon jones has been so reluctant to do so for many years? Is it easier to change weight classes in japan or something?

When he beat Royce under special rules set by Royce, I was impressed. Who in the world smoke cigs and drink and fight for 90 minutes? what a legend!

Randleman was powerful, but the typical old time wrestler that didnt take subs seriously.

Why? She didn't make excuse after the fight and press conference.. she thought she was rdy but obviously not.

You should atleast apologize for being wrong.

“she thought she was ready but obviously not” is an excuse. Every fighter has excuses for their losses, some just don’t say them out loud.

The Belfort was is the most suspect. I remember watching that fight and thinking..."Vitor isn't trying to win. He isn't even trying to fight."

Jarl
Vitor broke his hand and gassed out in that fight. He has flopped to his back in other fights too when he is gassed and discouraged. I believe he pulled guard on Jones and a few other guys too

Early on in the fight he was clearly throwing with serious power as well, not what he'd have been doing if he was looking to throw the fight.

You're supposed to believe in yourself regardless . You can tell you never competed in combat sports lol.

Eight years of bjj two years of mma training. Competed in bjj hundreds of times, never got in the cage tho. Also wrestled in high school.

I have excuses for every loss I’ve ever had, undertrained, overtrained, nagging injury, poor coaching, opponent was on roids etc etc

Every time you lose there’s an excuse/reason for why you lost, and it’s up to you to fix it the next time you go out and compete.

I guess if you're literally thinking of excuses you could find one. I think it's weak minded. Sometimes you lose to someone who is simply better. That the reality of it. Of course we can go down a list and say that I need to get better at this or that but that's true for everyone because no one can be perfect.

Mackenzie gave no excuse to the media, that should count for something regardless is she didn't believe it internally.

Jon wants to be flawless and undefeated and regarded as the best ever. The Japanese just wanted their guy to look strong and successful to the rest of the world. Half the time those Japanese "cans" were fighting big guys it was with the hope that a Japanese could defy the odds and come out with the victory (unfortunately usually resulting in them being badly hurt)

I never said she gave an excuse for her loss, just that some people say why they lost and some don’t. It is what it is. Even saying the other person was better than you is an excuse.

I’m actually a fan of Mackenzie, been watching her since her mma debut. Ribas is possibly the worst match up for her at 115.
