I'm working on the assumption that you'd need to have a form of UBI come into effect at some point between now and the society you describe. Once there's a significant lack of jobs compared to people there's going to have to be a solution but we will still need people to work.

There won't be a solution. The losers that run things don't care, they'll just tell everyone, "sorry about your luck," or, "sorry you weren't lucky enough to randomly be born into a rich family, fuck off." None of them have shown an ounce of compassion, and they're already against UBI, so it's going to be a horrible existence if AI takes over and you don't have money or connections.

If AI takes over like everyone says, it's only for the benefit of the rich people already running everything, they absolutely won't let any random person just live life doing whatever they want. They would use AI to run most business and day to day life, and then the rest of humanity would still be cogs in some metaphorical machine. Or eliminate all jobs and let everyone starve and die, then it'll just be a society of privileged rich kids and robots.

Yeah, I don't think you understand the concept the AI takeover. Rich guy/poor guy conspiracies are popular with a certain segment, but not the segment that actually understands it. There could be manipulation using AI to a point in the future, but rich people don't have any more ability to control a super intelligence than anyone else. The whole point is that humanity loses control because something far more intelligent will develop its own agenda, and eliminating people since they could get in the way of that agenda would be an extermination just like rats nesting in an area that is being cleared to build a bridge. It's not my personal theory- it's what the creators and top AI engineers are saying. We are rushing to beat China to AGI because there are huge consequences in troublesome bad actors getting it before we do- in that rush, we are not being careful and may be sacrificing safety and creating a monster.
