Not really. The drop is MUCH more drastic then almost any other position in sports. You can be the best RB in the NFL at 29 but there is no chance you are even top 10 at 31. Its crazy how fast RBs drop off after 30. Its just way to physical of a position. RBs take a beating. The average RB only lasts 2.5 years
From what I've seen from many sports.
20-25 psychical prime
26-30 you still have high levels of physicality but now you got tons of pro level experience perfect blend this is when the best work is done and biggest achievements are made
31-35 your body takes way longer to recover, your psychical stats are down and only going lower with each year but damn you know your trade and you take full advantage of the extra experience
36-40 you are surviving with the elites but it's just experience, skill holding you at the high levels your physicality can't compete with the younger guys, cardio, speed, strength etc everything is affected and you notice a young 22 y/o just doing stuff way easier then you, you instead need to be smart, need to pace yourself be way more sharp with the IQ
41+ you have no business in any elite sport, especially team games.. fighters push the boundaries cause it's team you, team of only 1 man.
Of course we can have some exception some truly psychical freaks and modern medicine does push on the boundaries but for the large majority this are the key numbers.
Depends for sport for specifics others are more ruthless and the the cut off age even lower, then depends on the athlete and his lifestyle if he trashes his body 24/7 don't expect him to age well, if he isn't fit the same etc etc.
