Yet he still won dominantly.

People underestimate the psychological toll switching opponents can be, but Khabib stepped up and was willing to fight anybody.

Khabib is the LW champ we deserve! Long live the king!

Is it over? Damn I fell asleep watching Khabib up against the fence, clinch, clinch push up against the fence, and that is all I remember before passing out.

Damn it

Damn it

He spent two rounds striking Iaquinta, he outstruck him and busted his face open with the jab and people are giving him shit for it.
Rogan said he's unimpressive and then the scorecard was 50-44 50-43 50-43, take that how you want

People are crying about nothing. Doesn't matter if it's Iaquinta, Michael Johnson, or Conor McGregor, Khabib is more than likely going to do that to you for however many rounds it takes.

Let's not forget that both men found out they'd be fighting each other a little over a day ago! That's like studying for a midterm and the day before the test the professor drops 8 weeks worth of material on you and tells you it'll be on the test tomorrow.

50-43!!! I've never heard that in my life!!!

His style wins fights. It doesn't matter if it doesn't look pretty.

26-0 and now the new LW champ tells us that he is doing something right.

Right? Like at no point was I watching and thinking to myself, "dang, Khabib is in trouble!" I was shocked that Iaquinta lasted 5 rounds, but hey, he's a tough SOB.

Khabib's striking is awful, but it works because of the threat of his takedowns. Iaquinta didn't show Khabib's stand up any respect because he was so concerned about ending up on the mat again.

ppl hate conor so much they are actually prasing khabib. crazy

Oh don't get me wrong if Khabib met Iaquinta in the boxing ring he'd be fucked, but the takedown threat is part of MMA so IMO it's effective striking to use that threat to land strikes

Khabib's jab neutralized Iaquinta's standup. Iaquinta is supposed to be the better stand up fighter, and yet Khabib landed significantly more strikes and was never taken down.

Khabib's game is most definitely effective...at some point though, he could run into someone with solid striking who he struggles to takedown and his awful striking will catch up to him. May not happen for a while though.

Think Eddie Alvarez would give him a run for his money? I feel Kevin Lee could also have a chance tbh

The threat of Khabib's takedowns is what really neutralized Iaquinta's stand up. It was good to see Khabib using his jab, but Iaquinta clearly didn't care about that. Just that takedown.

I like Conor's chances to land a clean fight ending blow with 25 minutes to work. If Khabib was a finisher my $ would be on him. However, Khabib is a fence humper/grinder. Tony also has a decent chance to land an elbow that opens up a fight ending cut. Khabib fans will say that it was a lucky blow. However, 25 minutes is a long time to give Conor & Tony. Can't wait to see if I'm correct.

Both of those fights would certainly be interesting. I would favor Khabib, but styles make fights and those guys would be an interesting match up for Khabib...especially Eddie.

why would it be? he was training to fight a guy with pillow fists and would up fighting a guy that can bang..

If Conor does not land cleanly within the 1st round, the fight will look like tonight's fight. Conor has no cardio, and he'll be working way too hard to stop the takedown, IF he stops the takedown. Khabib would grind him out too. I see no difference, just different opponent.

Fixed.

They'll divert their praises to Conor as soon as he comes back to defend his belt(s). Too bad he's unlikely to do that.
