Yan could potentially move up and Ilia could move back down. Ilia is a tiny LW, he only moved up since he destroyed the best FW's to fight Islam who ran away.

Could be an interesting fight a 145. Topuria would have a bit of a size and power advantage most likely but not by much, and the skillsets make it interesting.

An arguably even more interesting hypothetical would be Topuria vs Bibert Tumenov



I know he's not in the UFC, but ACA has a few fighters that would be problematic for anybody in the UFC's FW and LW divisions. And the striking matchup here would be phenomenal.

The way people talk about him on here, you’d think Petr Yan was still undefeated and has been champion this entire time. It’s like people want him to be better than he actually is.

That being said, the fans make a bigger deal out of the size advantage than there actually is in reality. Unless Topuria decides to grapple with him, it won’t make much of a difference. I see it being a good fight if Yan can keep it standing.

Yep two of the best boxers in the UFC and not miles off being the same size, but different enough there'd be a size disadvantage for Yan. I'd also like to see Van's standup against these guys.
Maybe Alex Topuria really comes on and we get him vs Yan at BW in a year or so.
