Media Isreal Adesanya: "You're gonna realize that it's over, you can't beat me" to Marvin Vetorri.

I thought Izzy lost the first fight but he's definitely gonna destroy Vetorri in the rematch.... hopefully no dry humping this time
Ya who knows. Marvin is a good fighter and Jan may have given a blueprint to beat Izzy. That being said, Izzy is rightfully a favorite.
Edit: just looked and he’s a -265 favorite. I’m kind of surprised it’s that much of a gap.

Dont chase the counter fighter, youre either all the way in or all the way out. Wait for Izzys patent lean then shoot.

and new

Izzy doesn’t realize that his lopsided loss at 205 has raised more questions about him than his opponents.

edit: that card looks excellent, it’ll be super cool to not watch it.

Imagine if Vetorri beats him and starts dry humping him

After Izzy embarrasses Vet gimme Vet vs Costa.

“Got the breaks beaten off him” is a bit of an exaggeration. Sure Adesanya won the first 2 rounds.. the second was pretty clear.. but the first wasn’t a decisive round by any stretch.. Still give to Adesanya though
Maybe it is (I still think that is clean first round for Izzy), but i truly believe that most fighters would fall somewhere in those 2 rounds. Lot of clean shots landed for Izzy. Of course, Marvin is very tough and he can use that to his advantage while trying to grind out a decision. But people calling that fight close, especially Marvin winning, I really don't know. Even his grappling was lackluster.

I think saying the fight was “close” and also a clear win for Adesanya are compatible statements. Adesanya definitely won, but he didn’t exactly blow out Vettori

Too many Izzy dickriders....just the way he likes it. Vettori brings the dawg, Izzy will be stressed. No cakewalk.

What a boring snoozefest of a fight/rematch. fk all the simpletons that approve of this shit.

Im not super hyped for it either but it’s the right fight to make if Rob is injured. I mean who else is there?

This is not trying to sound smart, but I wonder how could you think that? I watched the fight again a few days ago and it is incredible to me that there are people who think that Vettori was even close to winning one of the first 2 rounds. He got brakes beaten of him, threw more, landed less, and got damaged much more than Izzy. He also had 0 successful takedowns. Even when he did land a takedown in third, he did absolutely nothing on the floor. Like, is this some anti-Izzy bias or what? Legitimately curious. The only thing which Marvin did well was being tough, most people would be KO-ed based and everything that Izzy landed.
Round 1 is a decently clear 10-10 round. How anyone could be surprised that either guy picked it up is weird frankly.

I think Izzy takes it in the rematch. But this narrative of a massive Izzy shutout in the first 2 rounds simply didn't happen.

INFO:
In a small BTS look at a press call, we can see Isreal Adesanya(20-1) and Marvin(17-4-1) discussing they're upcoming fight.
Isreal Adesanya(champ) had some harsh words for the #3 ranked MW Marvin Vettori. "You're gonna look at me and realize that it's over, this is it you can't beat me", Isreal seems committed to getting a more definitive win over Marvin the second time around.

THE REMATCH:
The rematch will also take place in the Gila River Arena with a full crowd capacity. It's set for UFC 263 on June 12th as the main event, the fight will also have middleweight gold on the line unlike their first fight.
Who do you think will take the rematch and how?

Card is stacked, damn! Please nobody piss hot or get COVID…

Izzy is done imo. I foresee a losing skid with him getting put on his back over and over again

I would have liked Marvin’s chances a lot better prior to seeing how many times Holland caught him clean when trying to come in. Seems tailor made for Israel.

I would like to see Marvin have top position at least once in the beginning of a round for this to be interesting.

I love these kind of fights, striker vs wrestler.

I hope izzy wins because i love a champion who defends his belt reguraly but Vettori is in this fight and he will spam the takedown button and really try to grind a win. Vettori is no joke.

Izzy via decison?
No. Izzy can only win by finish tbh. He can't decision marvin. He'll get controlled the long the fight goes. That said, izzy is easily the deadliest striker out there. Not making a pick for this one. Feels like an izzy fight, but i can see an upset. But i can also see an izzy tko. So... Wish.

If vetorri wasn’t able to beat Izzy back then he has zero chance now. Izzy has improved massively since their first fight.
