Media Isreal Adesanya: "Shut him up again..worse than the first time" on Robert Whittaker rematch.

by perfectly mature i mean, more than mature enough. He's closer to GSP then he is to conor on a sliding scale. he could be more mature. we all could.

I wildly disagree with your take on him but you do you homie!

I want to like Izzy but he comes off extra and abrasive as fuck. He always sounds pissed off and defensive. Is this the result of all the bullying he went through?

Before he was cringe but genuine with his whole videogame analogies and anime stuff. Now he is in this Conor like state of "Im better than everyone, I envision my destiny, blablabla" but he just doesnt have that charisma.

He just comes off as an insecure tool and kind of a bully. No king rules forever, Izzy.
Sounds like you’re insecure

That is your opinion, but if you put GSP and Israel side by side, can you really say he is 'perfectly mature'?
What’s mature about gsp? he wears a suit and Dosent cuss? Sounds like you just like people who take abuse and hide it.
Don’t ask don’t tell weirdo ass.

izzy is super genuine and super entertaining. He’s a real CHAMP.

not just a corporate shill with a cheap suit

Izzy is my boy, but him being so unnecessarily cunty and combative with Whittaker is just odd. Reminds me of kids having a crush on someone and being mean to them because they dont know how to act around them.

I’m also having a major deja-vu like I read this thread already and already posted this comment, including the “im having a deja-vu” part.

Unfortunately Adesanya is not really doing a great job at building a fanbase that is there for him/his personality. They like that he wins. I wish him the best but above all I would really like to see him mature as a person.

I think GSP spoiled me.
That is because you are assuming that everyone likes the same personality types. Many enjoy his personality as well as a guy like GSP or Rob.

Whittaker has been nothing but classy and level headed since that uncharacteristic performance against Izzy where he was winging wild shots and fighting recklessly. That's not how he usually fights.

That said, Robert still has tendencies to leave himself open defensively and does throw too many looping shots in the pocket. He is going to have to fight a perfect fight to win here and I don't know if he can. We can't just say he needs to mix it up, as it's been incredibly difficult to get Israel down and if anyone has been lucky to do it, they can't keep him there. His TDD at 185 is exceptional.

I know this forum loves to hate on Adesanya but the guy has proven that outside of that Jan misstep, at 185 he is an elite fighter who hasn't been tested since that Gastelum fight. He may just have Bobby's number.

I want Knuckles to win. I hope he wins. I don't think he does.

Thanks for the cliffs as well, TS.
Id have to go back and really watch his fights to see if he fights like that or not but off the top of my head he fought Derrick Brunson like that too. Thay fight was chaotic from both sides with looping punches and no defense. He tried that against Izzy and paid for it. Hopefully he doesnt do that again. I imagine he goes for the TD asap

Lol i hope for your sake you are 16. Do it like your boy Dreyga and kindly remove yourself.

Took me a while to figure out Israel, I think he’s a super nerd and a mega troll, but he’s a great fighter so I like him (other than when he fucked my boy Whittaker up ha ha)

He flurries ALOT more than usual in Israel fight. In other fights he’ll do fadeaway shots or dash in and pause then throw a single well gauged strike with power (Jared’s are broke from this iirc)

if you ask me as a Robert Whittaker simp, he fought mad or he didn’t respect Israel. He just blitzed in almost every time with the same combo. On the counter that finishes him, rob stood in the pocket after missing his blitz and tried to follow up AGAIN. I’ve rarely seen him do that, and I think he realised Israel has power too late.

IMO before then we had only seen Israel hurt people from long distance with straight shots. His lean back counter debuted in the Whittaker fight TWICE. He even almost finished jan with it.
Now that Whittaker knows Israel has power to finish him on the inside too, I’m sure he doesn’t just spam the same entry over and over.

Edit: oops I originally forgot what I was replying to you mainly about, he fought completely different in the Brunson fight to the Adesanya fight.
In the Brunson fight he is moving backwards for almost the whole thing. He’s landing BOMBS off the back foot, that fight looking sloppy is more to do with Brunson fighting like a silverback gorilla. Literally running forward with no thought besides get the takedown. In the Adesanya fight it was more Whittaker playing the gorilla. Honestly Whittaker snipes people and then blitzes them sporadically to hurt them. I think he knows it’s not a good idea to trade with Izzy on the outside, but lack of respect for him on the inside made him reckless. Second fight will be ALOT more competitive

Nice post bro thank you. Ill rewatch brunson fight for fun and and check it out. Hope he beats Israel this time

I'm actually slightly leaning towards Whittaker in the rematch.
A lot of little intangibles that actually favor Robert IMO.

I hope you’re right and I get to thinking the same thing the I see Izzy’s camp videos and I’m reminded of the insane amount of skill surrounding his preparation. Which isn’t to take a thing away from my boy Bobby it’s just hard to imagine him being beat by a striker his own size.

Izzy shook by Alex Pereira and lashes out at other fighters. He knows his days are numbered win or lose.

Shut him up again? It’s hard for me to imagine Whitaker talking shit.

He seemed happy to have injured Till, that was probably the meanest you'll ever see out of Rob.
