You guys excited for Adesanya's UFC debut? Top level kick boxer ranked #6 in the world by Glory with a record of 50-5-2. 11-0 in MMA all by KO and the AFC MW champ an organization that has turned out a couple of great prospects lately like Alex Volkanovski. Training his BJJ under Galvao so you know that's going to improve quickly. Right now it looks like he's training out of Tiger Muay Thai which is interesting.

He's an interesting prospect for the UFC for sure but he's also going to be a fun guy to watch even if he doesn't develop into a top 5 guy or anything

What do you think Sherdog? You interested?

Damn, wasn't aware that he was killing it in Glory. Looks to be legit, let's see how he does tonight.

They gave him a good match up for his debut. I guess they learned their lesson with Muslim Salikhov

Israel is the man. Impossible not to be exciting with the nickname “Stylebender”. If you havent seen him fight, do yourself a favor and look his highlights up on youtube.

Won the contender tournament but then lost to Wilnis and Periera. But I mean no shame in losing to those killers lol. Out of his 5 losses in pro kickboxing 4 of them are to the top 5 guys in the world

Other than the info in the opening post I dont know much about him, so thanks for piqueing my interest TS! Informative posts like this are why I started coming to the forums.

He's got size like Venom Page but way more kickboxing prestige.

For sure although I do think matching a guy who lived most of his life in New Zealand against an Australian guy is a little bit weird since generally they want to give the local guys foreign dudes to get the crowd behind them whereas here they'll probably just root for Wilkinson

got KTFO in kickboxing and never fought anymore there. but still seems to be an exciting guy

By the world champ and then he was offered two MMA title fights and a UFC debut which were all easier fights for him

Probably played it smart tbh

He's got that hands down style like MVP. Very dynamic fighter.

yeah I mean I'm glad that he's in MMA, I'm nto a huge fan of other combat sports. and in a sense I think I'm glad he got KTFO because maybe he wouldn't ever go full MMA if he didn't get stopped

I'm pumped, but I'm from New Zealand so I'm biased.

His striking is creative and very, very precise. I see very few fighters that can handle him standing, so hopefully his TDD holds up.

BTW, TS, he's definitely not training at Tiger Schulmann's. He's trained at Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand, but his base is City Kickboxing here in Auckland, NZ. He trains with UFC LW Dan Hooker and several other high level locals (FLY Kai Kara France, UFC FW Alex Volkanovski did his most recent camp there, etc).

If he can keep it standing, Izzy beats every MW outside the top 5, IMO.

They gotta give him the prospect treatment and not ruin him. Hes an amazing prospect but needs ample time to develop properly. Hopefully they for give him the Yair treatment with to much to soon

Kind of reminds me of Michael Venom Page. Wonder if he'll duck real competition like the actual MVP.

Well, Page fought guys with shit records, at least Adesanya has fought some of the best in kickboxing, some older guys like Verlinden, Stoica and Wilnis and really good guys like Marcus and Perreira.

I am aboard the train. I haven't watched Glory in a while, and never knew that he got ko'd by Perreia, but maybe it is a good thing.

No compliments, or mention of his amazing record, or even a "let's see how he does".....just a low key racist remark, and a half dig.

Gotta love these f*ckwad shertards

Kind of reminds me of Denzel "L" Freeman. Wonder if he'll duck real competition like Samuel "Venom" Gooding.
