Been following Nurullo and the crop of Tajiks before any of them were signed to the UFC or Bellator. I'm less sold on Nurullo Aliev, although he has great potential but Samandar Murodov is the truth out of Tajikistan and I like Sarvadzhon too. Whole crop coming out of that country.

Saygid Izagakhamaev was Khabibs guy who was supposed to come to the UFC at 170lbs and collect the belt but he got derailed for his contract vs Carlston Harris. People who fetishize Dagestani MMA usually don't actually know much about it.

I'm not super impressed with Narullo either. Dude has potential but his striking is very basic and I have not seen any much of a submission threat.. which made Khabib and makes Islam so dangerous.
On the other hand he is super young so he has time on his side for now.

These guys are so dominant and nearly flawless that they get bored with MMA after reaching the highest level. When nobody can beat you or even challenge you, why not move towards a less strenuous lifestyle?

Just checked Samandar Murodov and I see he won a Road to UFC fight. Is he officially signed?

No and to be honest, as the Eagle FC Champ he was already worthy of being signed, he upset Khabibs 10-0 Welterweight prospect and then finished Maxim Shvets who was 19-3....He dispatched one of Brazils top WWs outside the UFC easily on Road to the UFC who was 18-4 too. Samandar is arguably the best prospect in the entire sport at 23. I'm not sure why he hasn't been signed yet, I like most assumed he would get signed after a weird 1 of fight on the Road tournament card (he didn't fight in the tournament he was just randomly added to the card). So I imagine it's 1 of 2 things, either because he's so young they told him to stick around kid and come on the contender series later this year or his visa is fucked and they're trying to sort that out. So many of these guys are/were every bit the prospect guys like Islam and Khabib were but never sorted out their visas, Frodo went 5-0 at FW in Bellator but then his visa stopped getting cleared. Eduard Vartanyan tried to get signed to the UFC but apparently his visa was fucked (not sure in every case if it's the visa or the UFC just not wanting too many ex soviet area beasts).

So we will see, Samandar, Cezary Oleksiejczuk, Evgeniy Ignatiev, Azat Maksum and Losene Keita are at the top of my list of prospects to see on the contender series this year. There's other great prospects but a lot of them are established in bigger promotions and the UFC would actually need to care and spend money to sign them. Sarvadzhon Khamidov who I mentioned also from Tajikistan tried to get signed directly to the UFC at 14-0 (he's really athletic and talented) and he's only like 24 but they offered him a 8k contender series fight and Bellator had offered him a real contract, so now he's with Bellator, which is fine the Bellator 135lb division is awesome.
