165 170 is beyond stupid. 165 175 is better. But stil a trick to get a belt. Less categories is better. 165 175 isn't too bad.165 makes logical sense and is present in other orgs. I think, regardless of Dustin, that 155, 165, and 175 is a better option. 155 and 170 are stacked with talent but the top 15 cannot support the level of activity required to keep new faces in the mix. 165 gives some of these fighters a place to go and gives us more fights in general
No one is suggesting 165 170. Just making 125-185 all have 10lbs gaps. Less weight classes is a terrible idea. It clogs up weight classes, causes less meaningful ranked match up between comparable opponents.165 170 is beyond stupid. 165 175 is better. But stil a trick to get a belt. Actually there is a huge amounf of 155ers. I'm indiferent. I wouldn't oppose 165 175. I always thought it meant 165 170, which was so stupid to me. However who suffers from 155 170. If you wanna go 165 why not go 170. Seems like making it easier to become champ cause you can't beat the 170 155 champs. No one is suggesting 165 170. Just making 125-185 all have 10lbs gaps. The 165 wouldn't be a trick belt. It'd just solve the overpopulation of 155 and 175. There are a lot of fights were missing out on because the rankings are clogged up.
I re-watched the fight, anybody who had it 2-2 going into Rd 5 was scoring the fight purely on vibes lol. This is another Volk-Islam 1 situation, Islam’s opponents get graded on a curve if they do better than expected.
