-Islam defended as often as GSP, Jones, MM on average, so clearly they made guys wait just as long as Islam.

-Gaethje was going to fight Islam at 302, but he chose the BMF fight on 300 because the UFC convinced him to. "The UFC came to my house and begged me to take that fight against Max".

-Topuria never had a ranked LW fight at the time, so it makes no sense including him as a guy Islam needed to beat in order to clean out the division.

-I never said Islam cleared out the division

I am not trying to get into this too much, because people are being too harsh on Islam, he is about average for this generation.

But both GSP and Jones's first 4 title defenses were within a year, and MM's first 4 were within a year and a half. That is Islam's entire reign, which took him almost 2 years.
