He means that sub defense is not getting caught in a submission attempt. So should he stay in the position longer to please people?

Also this, some people purposely bait with a submission just so they can get a better position. Khabib does it a lot with guillotine because he knows his defense for it is strong and he ends up on top. Even though Dustin's was close, Khabib had to readjust multiple times to get out of that one.Positional awareness > sloppy sub attempts. A lot of those guillotines for example are at terrible angles, in half guard with Islam passing to side control lol
He's a wrestler. Sometimes wrestlers get caught in guillotines when shooting. Even Khabib. He means that sub defense is not getting caught in a submission attempt.
Incoming ackmed breakdown on why Islam is God
True. But he isn't a wrestler with no submission knowledge, he knows exactly when he's vulnerable. That's why he shoots his takedowns and moves his head to the opposite side, Islam does this too. They do it to prevent the guillotine, but those are different than the times they are baiting for it. Other times Khabib will just put his head out there and wait for the guillotine attempt. He's a wrestler. Sometimes wrestlers get caught in guillotines when shooting. Even Khabib.
Anyway Islam's in half guard,he aint stressin it.
he meant that you should've went with could instead of wouldYou're right. Islam got a khabib chin
That's submission escape. Not defending it.

HUGE if trueThat's submission escape. Not defending it.
I dont think you understand the term submission defence friendThat's submission escape. Not defending it.
Going to say this again. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that Islam wasn't the first in line for that title shot over Poirier (and possibly Gaetjhe)?
The risks of taking the fight to the mat against an opponent with submission ability comparable to Werdum is extremely dangerous. Fedor, despite him being a phenomenal grapper and a submission artist in his own right, ended up getting submitted that way.
It could be a fight where Islam may have to keep the fight standing.
Did you watch Oliveira vs Kevin Lee?
Kevin is nowhere near the grappler as Islam and he controlled Oliveira on the ground for about 6 mins in rounds 1&2, defended his sub attempts and landed some ground and pound. He lost early in round 3 but relatively speaking if Kevin was able to control Oliveira on the floor for 2 rounds Islam will have no problems doing the same for 5 rounds if needed.
