News Islam Makhachev becomes #1 P4P

So people who voted for this really thinks if islam and jones were same size islam would win?
Jones has always been a size bully and generally doesn’t
Cutting from 225-230 to 205 is different from cutting from 190-200 to 155. Try again.
Look at their frames, Islam is the same size as most other LW at 5’10. Shorter than Hooker, Turner and Vick but the same height as Gaethje. Jones at 6’5” is massive and struggled with anyone his size. .

He deserves it. Jones is not nearly as active right now and Islam has beaten Volk twice.

what a goof move. islam has defended the LW belt against 0 LWs. one of his defenses was against a 10 day short notice fight. LOLOL. this is prime wolf tickets. the we need this guy to sell more PPVs so lets say he's #1 P4P. Even though he's never defended the belt against one LW.
You don't understand what wolf tickets means

You might as well have written this I'd prime bouncy castle floppy underpants

I love how Jones' fans act like he's more active than Makhachev. One sole win in 3 and a half years over a dude who's not in the pound-for-pound rankings, and he's PFP number 1. Absolutely atrocious. I feel embarrassed to even address this.

Sorry to break it to you, Jones' fans, but 10 pounds lighter Volkanovski, even on short notice, is still a better win than Gane who's been doing MMA for 5 years and who has an embarrassingly poor wrestling and ground game for a title contender. I mean, Ngannou, who's spent most of his short MMA career as a striker, was able to outgrapple Gane with one functioning knee. The more you think about it, the more embarrassing it becomes.

Also, Jones had to spend over 2 years before making his heavyweight debut. That's not as impressive of a pound-for-pound great win anymore, especially considering he can't just drop down to 205 pounds 4-5 months after, like Volkanovski dropping down to 145 pounds after the first Makhachev fight. Jones would probably spend another 2 plus years in the training room before making that 205-pound comeback.

<Lmaoo>

What a pathetic week argument, pretending that you don't know that Volk is better than most lightweights

Based off what? Weight classes exist for a reason and Volk isn't even a big FW to begin with. We've seen twice now that Volk's chin is a hell of a lot worse at LW than it's ever been at FW, and he's much slower which is what a lot of his success is based on. LW isn't a good fit for him.

I like how you're pretending all these don't exist, nor that there also isn't a history of good FWs struggling once they move up too. It's not just Volk. Conor lost to Diaz and has only beaten Cerrone since Eddie. Dustin got KO'd by Johnson and has since lost every title fight. Max lost to Dustin because he wasn't used to the additional power nor did he pack it itself without properly preparing for such a transition. It happens. What works at FW =/= what works at LW.

You're the one pathetically pretending like moving weight classes is no big deal because it suits your narrative. Let's see Islam move up (or hell even down) and see if he's still the same fighter.

He deserves it. Jones is not nearly as active right now and Islam has beaten Volk twice.

Jon literally would have the same activity level as Islam this year if he hadn't gotten injured or Volk hadn't stepped up on 10 days notice to replace Charles for Islam.

Which are we really even counting in Islam's favour in beating a post-surgery 10 day notice FW? It's not like he at least beat Gamrot who was the official ranked LW prepared backup fighter which then would hold a lot more credit than the Volk we got. Volk is a great name on paper until you apply the actual circumstances which no doubt affected the vastly different results too.

They'd literally have the same activity level this year if Jon hadn't gotten injured and Volk hadn't saved Islam's ass by stepping up. It's 1 more fight. They were both supposed to have 2.

Why would Gane have been in the P4P rankings? He's not a champion or a recent one. He was however still the #1 fighter in the weight class which you're conveniently ignoring. Something Islam hasn't faced this year.

Also, Jones had to spend over 2 years before making his heavyweight debut. Volk being able to drop back down like nothing happened is precisely evidence that he isn't moving up properly (or should be at all). Look how nobody's sitting around saying Conor or Dustin should try moving back down. They can't.

Also let me know when Islam moves up

Above Jones? LMFAO.
I don't know what kind of logic goes in to making this decision.
No mental gymnastics I can even fathom have me arrive at this conclusion.

Obviously these rankings are not to be taken seriously moving forwards (if they even were to begin with).

Jones clearly lost to Reyes though. Islam not been defeated in 8 years.

It's a very weak lineup of champions currently but Islam absolutely deserves it.
How so?

HW- Jones is the GOAT
LHW- both Jiri and Alex are great
MW- Sean is ok
WW- will see, but there’s a good chance that Leon ends up as one of the greatest WW of all time
LW- Islam is 3 fights away from being the LW GOAT
FW- Volk is the FW GOAT
BW- O’Malley is great
FLW- Pantoja is good, not great

That smaller guy might be considered FW Goat, along with Aldo.
Also, that smaller guy would probably beat most ranked LWs.
I dont think he will attempt to fight at LW again at this point in his career. We have to see how he regroups from a first round KO at 35. When a fighter has almost career long winning streak like he has,a late career loss usually spells the beggining of the end. I HOPE this is not true, but it might be. Def should stay at FW going forward, either way.

Whether he's p4p #1 or not in the ufc, I will always boo Makhachev no matter the situation. He could win by 10 second knock out, and ill booo. The only time I cheer for him is when he loses or gets beat up. That's when I cheer hard, but if I see his face on TV at a bar, even if it's a commercial, ill make sure the whole bar hears me booing
Heres these for the cell phone

You're gonna wake my fiance up. I can't be waking up the whole neighborhood. He's gonna try to force all girls to stay in the kitchen. He'll get knocked out cold again soon and hopefully lose those brainchild and become less of a bigot.
Yeah true,I think this one is betta
