Goverment trying to evacuate civilians out of eastern Aleppo. Rebels mercilessly shelling the crossings in an effort to keep people in. It's becoming a giant hostage situation, just like Mosul will probably be.
Even some Western press reporting it, atleast those who have correspondents in place. Hard to deny truth when it stares you right in the face.

Like I said, the media is painting the rebels as the good guys when there is none in this conflict. The rebels are mostly made up of Sunni jihadist groups that are mixed up with Al-Qaeda and Wahabist ideology. When they share the same ideology as ISIS, is it any surprise they also share similar tactics? Even the White Helmets they tried so hard to sell has been implicated in staging their rescue photos. It's a poor choice on both ends, but I rather stick with a secular dictator than give Syria to jihadists on Saudi payroll.

The tactic of trying to equate the shia militia's with ISIS is so 2014. Even 'iran-backed' is losing its negative weight despite being widely adopted.

They wouldn't be in sunni cities if it wasn't for them welcoming and joining ISIS and trying to slaughter everyone. The Russians also did horrible things in Germany when they swept into Berlin during WW2. The key difference is that the Germans attacked first. Nobody shows sympathy for the Germans because they 'had it coming' no matter how wrong it was.

The shia militia's didn't leave their comfortable homes in safe areas to die in Fallujah and Ramadia because of wanton bloodlust. They did it because ISIS was bearing down on Baghdad and bombing any market, wedding or cafe they could get a car bomb near.

Yes its entirely one sides fault , there werent attacks on sunnis areas by shia or shia death squads being allowed over the border to deal with assads sunni 'crowd problems' .

That Argument kinda loses its weight when we hear of these militas cutting off heads and boiling them while announcing the mosul battle is vengance for some b.s centuries ago

Yes, it is their fault, and they should take responsibility for that. Joining ISIS is not a valid response to losing political power. I've had to explain this to you countless times and you still nothing but an apologist for them.

I couldn't care less about ISIS members getting what's coming to them. The militia's wouldn't be anywhere near Mosul if the residents didn't welcome ISIS in with open arms.

There's literally no justification for joining ISIS no matter how hard you desperately try to justify it. They backed the wrong horse and now will lose out in the long-term. Havent seen much chatternon the mosul offensive. Ive read its 30000 iraqi soldiers vs a city of 1 million plus theres only around 5k islamic state fighters there.

Whats the chances of success. Have they made any real advances. Whats some is twitter accounts ?

How complicated is it to detect and clean out a mine field? What kind of technology is used in the US Army? Robots? Also can mines be detected from the sky? I am guessing ISIS are putting down as many IEDs as possible, so this seems like a time consuming job.

I guess they maybe don't really need to clean out the IED if there is a way around. Just put up some kind of perimeter.

I am guessing detecting all the IED make it time consuming. Then there's snipers and the occasional suicide bombers/trucks. Fighting house to house inside Mosul cleaning every single house and apartment building. No easy task. And i am sure none of these guys are special units or even had proper training. Also don't forget the underground tunnels. ISIS have a lot of defenses, they have been preparing for this for well over a year.

I think the bombing on Aleppo starts again today, pro government forces are prepping fortifications to repel an expected push to break the siege by Nusra and friends. I hope for strong and decisive action to end the rebels in Aleppo so the government can redeploy to other fronts and end this fucking war, it's gone on too long.
