On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rank WW divisions current state?

Are we better off than a few years ago when usman reigned?

Or have we just finally began realizing usman and Colby were never that good and just lucky they were in the a weak division at the right time? People who try pushing this narrative on the boards are usually GSP fans or people who are just itching to point out usmans biggest wins were Colby and Jorge who over time were both proved to be not elite!

We have some good young blood in Belal and Shavkat. But WW lost its greatest prospect in khazmat to other division(s). Is a talent drain to other divisions to blame?

Or is there actually a talent influx from MWs trimming down and LWs filling out to attribute the greatness of today’s WW division?

It's in a pretty solid state. You have good young champion prospects like Shavkat, compelling up and comers like Brady, Garry and Maddalena, and solid veteran gatekeepers like Wonderboy, Magny and Neal. The top guys all have contrasting styles too. Plus the champ is well rounded, but not too dominant, which makes title fights more intriguing

I would consider JDM, Holland, Burns, Neal, Garry, Shavkat, (to a lesser extent Brady and Belal) all lifeblood of the WW division. The division's in decent shape but it's been held up by bozos like Colby for too long.

(Prime Fitch would be champ today) / 10.

Shavkat seems legit
Rinat is on a hell of a run but way less exciting
Belal is a muscled colby. if these two fight you can go eat and be back end r5 to check who got the decision

IMHO the division is definitely not looking good

It's good if we had more appropriate title fights.

I'd say the division is pretty solid. The only obstacle at the moment is with the UFC trying to maximize finance over legitimacy at every corner. It's still one of the stronger divisions right next to 155

Are there non ufc talent out there you feel the ufc can sign or get there hands own to push 170 even better?

The talent is there but the division is being mismanaged. We just held up the division for a year just for a completely unnecessary boring fight.

I think it's a very frustrating division which should have the potential to be a lot better.

Shavkat
JDM
Brady
Garry

Gotta get the Belal title fight out of the way & then these young killers will take over.

the division is about the same as where it was under usman. the post-gsp era was better (the lawler/hendricks era) because we had some of the most exciting fighters ever getting a shot at the crown. it really felt like anything could happen. everyone since woodley has sort of followed the same mold of having a combination of skills that is good enough to get by a few very game challengers, but eventually flaming out so the next placeholder champ can take over. i’m including leon’s reign in that list preemptively because it’s just a matter of time until someone exploits a weakness in the formula he’s used against usman and covington. we’ll see whether shavkat’s reign is any different.
