I was looking at the card for 197 and I noticed Efrain Escudero is fighting again. Efrain has had 3 separate stints with the UFC always going off to other orgs and coming back. How is he pulling this off? He fights in one of the deepest division in the sport so its not like the UFC needs extra bodies at LW especially someone with a losing UFC record. Is someone at the UFC doing a favor for Efrain?

He's like Peter Sobotta - comes in anytime they have an overseas card, like a fighting seasonal worker. He's 2-4 in the UFC over 6 years, with Vancouver being the closest (and only time) he's stepped even near U.S.

nope, he isn't getting any special treatment. he's a tough guy, but he's been cut twice before. on this stint he lost his first fight back and then won two straight before losing his last fight. he's getting another fight more than likely due to him stepping up and coaching TUF Mexico. if he losses this fight, he'll probably get cut again.

The UFC needs Escudero to cater to the Mexican market they're desperately going after.

He isn't boring and knows how to say yes at the right time

Isn't he a full time nurse? He probably doesn't have half the problems full time fighters do and is easy for the UFC to work with.

Lol that's Phillipe Nover. The 2 fought in a tuf finale

I don't recall him getting any special treatment while he was getting cut for "getting too comfortable" in the UFC but yeah if there is any reason it would be the 3 factors mentioned he's a TUF guy, he's good for the Mexican market and has probably done a favour or two for the UFC.

He won TUF, and he's one of the few moderately successful mexican fighters. Why wouldn't they keep giving him fights?
