Is TRT completely banned or can a fighter still use it as long as it's within a certain limit?

When fighters have been busted before for elevated testosterone levels, the levels were through the roof. Is it possible for fighters to use TRT as long as it's only used to bring them back to normal range (an average man's T level)?

Bigfoot looks way unhealthy without TRT. If he was overdoing the TRT I can understand the ban, but if it's only used to bring it up to normal levels, it should be ok right?

Maybe if you have a TUE but I'm not to sure these days.

I am pretty sure it's now completely banned in all forms. I think Dan Henderson talked about the ban. Dana I also I think he admitted the approval process was a complete mess. They got tied of explaining how someone who tested 3 times above normal levels could still fight at an older age.

EDIT: I think that long time users have lower then normal levels naturally. Some past users take estrogen in small doses to kick start testosterone production. In baseball they test for elevated levels of estrogen due to trying to force testosterone production.

I'm pretty sure that it's one hundred percent against the rules now, TUE or no TUE.

No more Use Exemptions.

I don't think they care if guys who actually need it can't have it anymore. A guy with health issues like Bigfoot just have to deal with it. They can only be as successful as they can be without test or Nolvadex.

It's tough on guys who need it but too many guys were completely abusing it. They ruined it for everybody.

If your testosterone levels are going beyond the cut off limit, it means you are NOT undergoing TRT.

It means you're taking lots of testosterone.

Nobody has an excuse to be ignorant on this subject anymore.

That isn't quite right. Exogenous testosterone converts to estrogen, so users of testosterone tend to have elevated estrogen levels.
I am on trt myself, and you have to take a few measures to keep estrogen-related side effects in check without completely crashing your estrogen.

A lot of the guys with low testosterone are former PED users in Japan, Brazil and early UFC.
Dan Hendo and Vitor Belfort both used PEDs when they could, and now they are suffering from it.

Pretty sure all forms of synthetic testosterone is banned.

@dimspace I think a TUE is possible with USADA but extremely unlikely.
The only case that Novitzky was aware of was a guy doing yatch racing who'd lost his testicles to cancer. It's very, very unlikely we'll see one in the UFC.

Nevada banned it, and then the UFC followed suit by banning it for all events for which it acted as the governing body (such as foreign events). Generally, all the commissions follow each other, but I suppose it's possible that one of the sketchy states might still allow it. In that situation, I'm not sure what the UFC would do.

No bro. My trt puts my testosterone levels beyond what standard blood tests measure. Almost anyone who supplements with exogenous testosterone will have T levels well beyond anything that your body can naturally produce.
It is dose dependent, but really anything other than testosterone cream will put your body in an anabolic state.

My understanding is all synthetics are banned so even if you are at normal levels they still can tell it's synthetic

I think TS was asking if someone were to use TRT and stay below the allowed limit of T-lvl's, would said fighter pass, or can they detect TRT even in low levels that are below even the natural T-lvl. I am kinda curious myself.

I don't think that's what he was asking, but I think they test for synthetic testosterone. Also, it will screw up your T:E ratio, which they test for.

Completely. TRT is synthetic which can be detected.

If somehow you use something else to boost your testosterone, you still have to fall under a certain ratio. If you go over, you pop hot. Chances of people cheating these days and getting away with it are pretty low when it comes to testosterone.
