Is this whole thing of fighting 2-3 times a year waste of time? and needs to be changed

Just think about what you said. 12 fights in six weeks. Come the fuck on you absolute clown.

It's early but this is probably the dumbest thing I'll read today.

Fighting is a part time job. Check their Instagrams, they are perpetually on vacation. Every other sport has many times more events/matches/games. Boxers and kick boxers and college wrestling compete far many more times. Look at the injuries in training camps and the weight misses. Maybe there is an issue with the training and the severity of weight cuts. But if NFL players can play 16 games minimum in a few months, what are fighters excuses? BTW, the majority of MMA fighters couldn't make it through an NFL season. Imagine WWs and below trying to play football. And yet most fighters fight twice a year?

The level of athleticism and professional training is not the same.

My interest in the sport is fading because there is not much action and alot of talking and the fights have been fewer and fewer as the years have gone by compared to 10 years ago.
PRIDE was the greatest thing to happen.

It is because of weight cutting mostly. Camps + big weight cuts take time and take their toll on the body. It’s not about damage and such nonsense. Kickboxers compete much more often and get ko’d dead. Muay Thai fighters fight on a monthly schedule, some even more than that. Of course, using steroids to heal injuries would go a long way as well, but let’s not go there.

Fighters need to fight more if the a worth while career. Mcgregor, Adesanya, Pereira, Holloway. Fighters who often fight their careers always flourish. While you got fighter who sit on the sideline and try to dictate their career always ends suddenly realizing they wasted a lot of years sitting out. Their choice their careers, if anything has shown fighters who fight often always ends up having great careers.

As non fighters, we think the damage of a fight is done in the fight, but its really 10-20 minutes of damage, most of the wear n tear is in the training and sparring.

Well said, superlek fought 6x in the last 11 months and has a fight next month vs rodtang. Another reason why one fc is getting more love from me, their champs fight and dont yap their mouths from the sidelines all day.

College wrestlers don't get hit in the head. NFL players wear protective equipment, you fucking moron.
