Media Is This the Most Retarded Question Ever???

Khabib has taken breaks in fights before. He did in the Conor fight and also the Iaquinta fight wasn't a crazy pace. plus he's only been 5 rounds once I believe. Merab goes balls to the wall for 25 minutes, he drowned Petr fucking Yan who has a great gas tank of his own.

These dudes have their heads so up them Dagestanis ass they can't see some minor flaws lol. We've seen Islam barely hold on against a FW in Volk in the later rounds. You mentioned Khabib slowing down in some fights. Merab literally dog walked Umar in the later rounds and toyed with him and these dudes get defensive when we mention their flaws lol.

Khabib had a way more meaningful cardio output. So if we factor this in, he for sure takes this one. Merab just hugs and throws himself at people. This submission - when was the last time he tried to pull something like this off? cant even remember ..

We're talking cardio here buddy. Khabib is undoubtedly better than Merab at anything but cardio. Khabib is actually able to control opponents so much more easily because he has much better skills and technique.

Merab is bouncing up and down from the opening bell to the last second of the fight while shooting for TD's 20 times if he has to.

I disagree, Khabib has never looked even slightly tired. He use to rotate 5 guys in the gym for many many rds. Way more than just 5 rds and those guys would be exhausted.

Brother, if Khabib didn't get tired he wouldn't have been getting his tds stuffed by Iaquinta in rounds 4 and 5.

His cardio was good, but it wasn't anywhere near Merab's.

You have a point. I still think both have super human cardio.

Khabibs cardio was very good, but clearly not Merab-level.

It's been romanticized due to his legendary status.

He didn't have that high of an output with strikes and takedown attempts.

His highest output with strikes per round was vs Barboza, and it was less in rounds 2 and 3 than round 1. Total 246 strikes attempted, 89/177 significant strikes.

We can compare that to "worst cardio ever" Khamzat who threw 239 strikes vs Burns, 108/223 significant strikes landed.
Higher output each round.

Against Dos Anjos, Khabib landed 36 significant strikes, 10 in round 3.

Khamzat landed 38 vs Usman, 13 in round 3.

Then we have Merab, who can throw 400 strikes and 49 takedown attempts in a 5-round fight.

If we're talking about LW, then I guess he'd have to be up there. One thing with Khabib is that his fights played out almost entirely on his terms when it came to 5 round fights.

Someone like Islam has great cardio too, but we saw him get pretty tired when he couldn't dominate Dustin or Volk like he has others in later rounds.

Not shitting on their cardio btw. Even though they slow, they never slow to the point where they're compromised. They're not Chandler or nothing haha.

Superhuman cardio to me is what the guys like Merab, Cruz, TJ, and Volk have. It's easier for them though for obvious reasons.

Mitsuhiro Ishida had better cardio than Khabib

True but I believe Khabib got more strength so I said better conditioned. Hard to argue different divisions. Merab definitely works at the higher and highest pace. Khabib also hits people harder.

The one thing to remember with these stats is the sort of strikes that are being attempted are a lot less taxing. GNP isn't always big shots, it's a lot more of shorter, less expensive ones, especially for someone like Khabib.

It's the same with Merab throwing his 400 strikes.

And both of those guys make up a lot of their strikes with their GNP.

Way more impressive to me is someone like TJ throwing 430 strikes and missing 300 of them against Cruz in a stand up fight. They weren't short, easier shots like what Khabib and Merab mostly make their counts up of. Bro was reaching hard for all of those 430 strikes trying just to touch Cruz as well, which made it even more taxing. And he was having to move way more in that fight trying to get into range than Merab or Khabib has ever done. Heck, probably no one had it harder in a fight ever than TJ did trying and wasting energy going after Cruz haha.
