Is this the best the MW has to offer?

you know how i can tell the dummies from the guys who actually know about fighting? because the dummies always boil a fighter's success down to a single trait. "DDP only good cuz chin." if that's what you really think

If Weidman could do it, so could Dricus
This is where I'm at, in regards to intangibles dricus has all the same things. He's young, fast strong and has a high fight iq. And personally I'd say dricus is stronger than Chris phsyically

Lol just no.

Vs Silva he'd be Forrest 2.0
Vs Hendo he gets the H bomb or grapple fucked
Vs Jacare he gets dropped and subbed
Vs Machida he gets KOed
Vs Weidman he gets a beat down loss by decision

This is Machida vs Weidman in a 5 round fight. The most significant strikes Machida has ever landed in a fight is 70, Du Plessi Landed 147 significant strikes against Strickland the first time and 125+ this time. He fights at a completely different pace and his cardio is amazing despite what he sometimes looks like. I think the Dricus from last weekend beats jacare weidman and machida He'd simply over whelm they. you say he'd get Ko'd but he's faced Izzy and did whatever and didn't same with Whittaker. "

Silva and hendo are a challenge but he absolutely could beat either one IMO. depends which hendo and which silva you bring

All of you think prime Silva or Adesanya would win easily, or most of the times, vs DDP?
I'm not so sure.

And Sean's style is... well, you know, but it's super effective. Prime Adesanya would surely time Strickland, find his range, be elusive and find openings for his counters?

Izzy did awful against Strickland that night. However, I see Sean being easy to figure out in a rematch but a hard puzzle to solve in a first fight. For anyone. Don't know how Izzy on a good night would do, but I'm not totally sold on him winning convincingly.

*I'm not a Sean fan and prefer DDP as a champ, but if you watch their first fight without the commentators you'll see pretty clearly that Sean won decisively.
DDP landed barely nothing and did zero damage (and very little control time) on the ground.
Sean didn't only land jabs. In the 4th and the 5th he landed flush several right hands.
Only time DDP did hurt him was the -accidental- headbutt.

**Izzy fought very, very well against DDP. And still lost.

No way he touches prime Silva coming in like he's Forrest Griffin.

He gets hit a lot so Hendo would land an H bomb eventually

Weidman is a much better stronger grappler and had a solid chin before the rockhold beatdown

Mousasi is literally better everywhere.

Machida ain't getting hit by DDP. If anything it would be a vintage Machida shut out

DDP v Jacare would be the most interesting. Jacare was a beast on the ground and hit hard as fuck.

Kennedy would be very interesting too

I could see DDP cracking Luke but I could also see Luke hurting him with a kick and getting a sub

They are all great fighters.

As soon as his chin cracks. Watch him plummet.

Same thing happened to Chuck and Wand. They were great but much of it depended on their ability to get hit and recover or be unphased to land their harder shots.

DDP gets hit more and is sloppier than those 2. He's fun to watch cuz he actually fights a kill or be killed style but unlike someone like Poatan he does not have the technical acumen to have longevity unless he switches to a grappling heavy approach. Also unlike Poatan he has ground game

20 years ago ai fully anticipated that MMA fighters would perform like something out of The Matrix by 2025. It's now 2025 and I only "watch" fights through the eyes of this karate forum.

I'm not sold

Although I don't completely agree a fight where one side has 0 interest in engaging is not going to be a slobberknocker.

The UFC doesn't believe in paying it's fighters. Talent goes elsewhere. Many other sports have salaries that are ridiculous early on.

Plus they are offered scholarships for their sport which translates into 4 years of paid education plus a degree. Then they can be signed to the NBA/MLB/NHL/NFL for 20/30 times they would make initially in the UFC.

I don't believe MMA is getting the cream of the crop North American athletes, I believe they attract the natural born fighters who just love fighting.

Just my opinion.

Yeah, a lot of that "MMA evolution" talk has chilled lately because it's so patently ridiculous if you look at the state of the UFC. Top fighters aren't better than they once were, and in some weights they are considerably worse.
I think your being naive man. " Top fighters aren't better than they were?" Can't agree with that.
Top fighters are way better than they were even 5 years ago.

They're all talking about Silva countering dricus like dricus wouldn't blast double that ass and bully him on the mat lol

DDP is a top MW and would be a credible threat to anyone. I dont know why people wont give him his due. He has a lot of attributes that are clearly very useful for fighting.

He's reasonably good everywhere, hits hard, high volume, good conditioning, unpredictable, good speed, good size, tough personality.

Wow, Anderson Silva would be favored over him...must be a real bum.
