While I agree that a lot of these extreme opinions are absolutely ridiculous and have no place on influencing society. But all the stuff people get up and arms about is just sensationalized by the media.

I'm from the bay area so I should know all about SJW influences and I pretty much never see or deal with it in real life. Most the people saying all this stuff are a small minority that get a way bigger voice than they should from the left and the right makes it bigger than it is because they want their base outraged for views. Both sides are getting played.

Also, while I believe the left is way worse when it comes to this topic, really, majority of these ideas are crazy. But the right gets just as outraged from the dumbest stuff to and gets completely butt hurt like a SJW does and while it may be a reaction to the lefts nonsense, it comes across as whiney too.. Both sides are annoying and it seems like there is no real attempt at a real dialogue, everyone rather just talk shit with ignorant half truths

If people have a grievance, let them speak. When this country becomes all one way, I wouldn't want to be here.

I think a large part of this is because people these days overhype the fuck out of anything they read about on the internet that makes them mad. SJWs don't exist where I live, although since my whole county flipped Blue that's about to change, but that's a different story. It is being taught to my kids, my wife comes home with it, my best friend of 25 years is going a bit whacko and I'm trying to set him straight, plus it makes party talk into a minefield. It's real for me, damnit! Sadly.

There is more seeping into mainstream, but I don't know why everyone (white people) are so surprised by this.
Demographics are changing, and people that were powerless or discriminated against in the past, are out of the shadows now. People are just afraid of change, and afraid of things they don't bother to try and understand.

Minority populations are growing, so you're going to see more stories and things in the media and film about minority issues. Same-sex marriage was legalized in 2015. 3 years ago. Why is surprising that you would see more gay characters?
A Black president, asian actors that aren't just doing kung fu, females not taking traditional wife roles and having more positions of power.....why are people surprised that these things will show up in what we watch? We're in a sort of new era in a way, and it's being sped along by social media.
People just seem to be unwilling to admit and see the change and why it's happening. I don't believe it's a generational/age thing--things ARE different today.

What exactly is "SJW stuff"? It seems like the mere mention of anything to do with race or gender, or being understanding of the people around you gets lazily tossed into the "SJW box".
