Men file for divorce less because the deck is heavily stacked against them.
Women are more likely to get custody, then they get alimony, then you pay a ton in child support that she doesn't even spend on the kids... It's a nightmare.
Plus in my case i actually put the kids needs first, and want to try to keep it together for them, where my wife is more like "eh, they'll be fine. What's important is that I'm happy"

Divorce is expensive as fuck for most men. Especially a state like CA, be prepared to hand over half your shit to include your retirement.

I'd love to see some statistics on what percentage of men are somewhat blind sided by divorce.
Men don't divorce because they'll get fucked by the system may be a rational response but I really doubt it plays out like that the vast majority of the time.
