Is there any way O'Malley can win against Sterling?

Suger has a ton of momentum and obviously is super into it and riding high just like Connor was

I don't think O'Malley is anywhere close to doing what Conor was doing. He beat like, one legit guy using his huge reach advantage in a controversial decision, a No Contest that people are treating as a big win for some reason, and a very lucky win that should have been a crushing loss against Southkemathetherhethhhhh

Oh but yeah there was the Moutinho win, that was dominant.

Sterlings striking looked very sloppy vs henry.i think sean could win later rounds if he doesn't get submitted

I just don't see it at all. Sterling is just gonna pressure him with his awkward style and he's gonna shoot repeatedly and eventually get one. Then it's a wrap. I just see this fight like Sterling vs Sandhagen.

I think O'Malley's best chance is to swarm him and spam knees but I think Sterling is smart enough to avoid knees and not get KOd at this point. His defense is weird asl but it works. And if he doesn't get a TD, he's just gonna be on his knees and O'Malley is just gonna stare at him lmao. Both of their cardio not the best but Sterling's cardio is at least more proven. We didn't even see O'Malley go 5 rounds.

I think it’s exactly what Sterling said — he’s gonna drag O’Malley’s ass all over that octagon. To win, I think O’Malley needs to have tremendous takedown defense and make Aljo pay early and often to deter him. If Aljo starts going downhill it’s over

It would have to look like Hill v Glover for O'Malley to win.

So Sterling would have to start spamming double legs like a 45 year old.

So the real question is, how big would the odds get before you wouldn't bet Sterling? 4-1? 5-1? 7-1? Would you put down $1000 to win $175? Most just don't have the stomach for that.

Those kind of odds are usually crazy to take in MMA. Matt Serra and Julianna Pena can attest to that and Sugar has far more weapons at his disposal then them.

The only good thing for O'Malley is that he knows he needs to do nothing but practice TDs and preventing Stirling from taking his back.

I don't think he can do that well enough not to get decisioned or tapped out, but I'm not betting on Aljo if he's over like a 2.5-1 favourite.

Indeed.

I’m just trying to point out yet again, that it’s a lot easier to pick winners, than make money gambling with odds.

Sherdoggers are full of people who consider fights locks but would take a 5-1 bet on it.

Of course there is. AJ is not a very good wrestler and a very mediocre striker. He is good at forcing the scrambles and going aggressively forward to cut distance, and at controlling his opponent on the ground. He is not a particularly well rounded fighter, but a very crafty fighter who works around his weaknesses to get himself to the positions where he is strongest.

Sean is an exceptionally good counter striker, who is long and precise. And his BJJ is actually very good, so it's not as if he is done if it hits the ground. He is dangerous for a guy who can be a bit sloppy moving forward, and has the length and reach to match Sterling. Also, people talk as time training didn't take place. It will have been a year or so since Sean last competed. His BJJ will have improved considerably in that frame, assuming he has been training consistently.

This is a much closer fight than people think.

I like Sean and he can ko anyone but aljo is too good of a wrestler I think. Sean's TDD isn't the greatest and Aljo took cejudo down.

If Sean can somehow keep it standing long enough like Hill did...

I mean rafter dust could land in Sterling's eye and impair his ability to see overhand punches.

Millions.

Yes, when Sterling does his fall-on-the-floor chicken $hit act, tell the ref his shoe is untied...

Sterling is gonna walk right through him. I think all he’s gonna need is one takedown to wrap it up.

O'Malley could try punching and kicking Sterling until he doesn't want to fight anymore.
