he subbed BJ Penn thoughI mean he beat BJ Penn.. who hasn't beaten BJ Penn though.
Have an elimination tournament, old school, put him in as fill, and see what happens..the sport has become a joke..
You know he doesnt have to actually do a takedown to submit youLmao Lamas was booked against Hall but then Ryan "the duck" Hall decided to pull out as he always does
Lamas would've stuffed his weak takedowns easily and smacked him up on the feet
That will work up to a certain level, but not against true elitesYou know he doesnt have to actually do a takedown to submit you
He's so good at his rolling heel hooks and leg attacks. Also he does have a decent kicking game
He started training with wonderboy and reworked his whole striking arsenal. Side kicks, spinning side kicks, all the kicks from cobra kai. He even dropped Darren Elkins 3 times with his kicks so he definitely has improved his striking game nowWill do. Ive seen some of his other fights tho. Was not impressed with his striking i know hes a genius on the ground tho.
Yeah probably still could happenThat will work up to a certain level, but not against true elites
I'd like to see Garry Tonon against someone that can actually fightYeah probably still could happen
We havent seen it too much but submissions while taking a shot can be effective. Gary Tonon who is making his way up is known for this.
Also it isnt exclusive to leg locks, standing submissions work just as well. Like Jones' guillotine on Machida or Ortega's guillotine on Swanson.
His striking has improved leaps and bounds from when he started. Of course he's no dynamo on the feet, but he's got such an awkward style combined with his grappling prowess that he's very effective standing up, and he's got some decent kicks.
Saul Rogers was never really in the UFC. He was on TUF, was supposed to fight in the final (and very likely would've won), but lied on his visa application about his criminal history or something and they cut him. He was legit and shut down Hall with his size and grappling, but it was also a win on TUF, which really doesn't mean a ton to me because no one is operating under normal conditions when they're fighting on a reality show. I don't think it proves much, and that's why we see so many fighters look so much better or worse immediately after the show.
As for Eddie Fyvie, who cares? It was Hall's pro debut like 15 years ago, he's allowed to lose to a nobody haha. Fyvie himself lost to some dude named Jim Miller in his debut, and what has that guy ever done?![]()
