He does, but I believe he still has Russian citizenship. It seems probable that visas will be harder to get for Russian citizens in the near futureKhamzat lives in Sweden

Khamzat is a citizen of Sweden.EU and UK Will not issue any visa whatsoever due to the situation. That Night include Khamzat aswell unless he has Swedish pasport?
Khamzat is a citizen of Sweden.
How many of these threads do we need?
be careful cause maybe you could increase amount of the yellow cards you have if you create too much such threads lolOne more![]()
And?
I assume that would mean no UFC fights until the process was complete which can take years.
Yes, the 20 people inside the Apex are going to heavily boo him.i got a feeling makhachev will be heavily boo'd, even with the post fight speech.
there is no way he's going to say anything about the war or condemn putin either.
It was a jokeI highly doubt the ones currently in the US for events will get expelled. I expect if you have a visa and in the country you are fine.
lol... I can't tell if you are seriously slurping up Putin or just totally unaware that russian missles are hitting outside those regions and killing 100's of innocent people.
You country of origin(where your passport is from) is more important in a visa application than the country you are currently in. It is clear for a number of russian fighters getting visa's hasn't been straightforward before this and I imagine it will only get harder. I have no idea what will happen in the future around this but I imagine it will become clearer over the next month or so.
The UFC could always just do fight island again to make it happen, but Khamzat might not want to leave Sweden unless his sure he can get back in.
I hope guys like Islam, Khabib and Yan take the moral route and say that it’s fucked up. But I doubt they would.
From my knowledge and this is just a westerners knowledge it’s not exactly ok to criticise Putin in Russia.
It was a joke
They can work under certain circumstances during the asylum seeking process. Besides, Billion dollar sports businesses find ways around beauracracy, so they wouldn't just get at the end of the line with the rest of the asylum seekers.
I looked it up out of interest, in the USA you can apply for a work permit after 365 of no decision.
Also I think this happening for fighters is highly unlikely since there aren't indications Russia is unsafe for them (unless they start publicly denouncing Putin). None of the Russian fighters I am aware of have spoken against Putin in anyway, in fact quite the opposite with people like Khabib seeming to have a good relationship.
I looked it up and they can apply for a work permit under certain conditions within 150 days. And as I said, they would not get at the back of the line considering not just the UFC, but also ESPN and Endeavor's influence. Regardless, how many Russian fighters are top 10 in their respective weight class?
It is kinda moot since it seems unlikely any fighter would make a bid for asylum. More likely they will just fight in Dubai or leave the UFC. If they can't go to Bellator/PFL then the UFC wouldn't worry about releasing them if they can't get to fights due to visa issues. Initially it would be a shock but the UFC brand is way bigger than any individual fighters.
Yeah, it is a moot point, considering I made the statement in the context of the TS's original question. Russia/Ukraine is not going to get any Russian athletes expelled from the US.
