Cross weight class matches in diaz vs mcgregor and Freak show fights rumoured in GSP vs McGregor... Are these the first signs of the UFC unconsiously taking a turn and looking more like pride??

Pride OWGPs and Freak shows got a lot of attention back in the day... And it would appear that it could start bringing in more cash to the UFC...

Will this be the norm from 2016 forward? Or is this just temporary chaos brought on by Conors reluctance to fight at 145?

You can't have pride without Wand in the corner stomping some guys head while holding the ropes. So no.

Needs foot stomps.

Pride worked cause guys got paid to fight.
UFC thinks they figured it out with incentive pay (20 to show 20 to win). But you get guys fighting to not lose instead of fighting to win.

You just pay people right to put it on the line, win lose or draw and it's a better show.

Pride had numerous fixed fights and far more freakshows. Also, a Pride-style freakshow would consist of a 700 pound man fighting a Lightweight. UFC 'freakshows' are still quality matchups, generally.

pride was more self aware and had enough respect for itself and teh fans to be honest in what they were doing, whereas the UFC has foolishly convinced itself that it can convince the fans that it mainatins an air of legitimacy.

dana trying to push teh stars he wants down our throats so that we love them--we get it, you dig sage, rhonda, pvz and a few others, dont act like you dont, and dont act like you dont pander to a few fighters and dont piss in our collective ears and tell us its raining.

pretty sad tht freakshow pride was more transparent than ufc.

you'd have to be pretty naive to think there hasn't been a fixed fight in the UFC

Ufc would need a fighter like Sakuraba, a welterweight who face lightheavyweights and heavyweights jumping into their guards... Fighting endless machs twice a day... And that
Would never happen again.

So no. Ufc would never by like pride

No, it's not.

Holy fuck, Pride has been gone for nearly 10 years. Get the fuck over it.

Please stop kid lol you're embarrassing yourself

Until HMC or giant Silva winds up in the octagon you can't really use the term freak show in regards to the UFC

Well, just like Pride, UFC are trying their hardest to make sure "the right guy" wins. They are 1-step away from fixing fights
