As a result of that focus, they're arguably the most potent air defense systems you can buy on the market. Any pilot up against Russian IADS will have a rough time penetrating the airspace.

Considering S-400 is already deployed and sold around the world, not really. I don't see MEADS being in service for at least several more years.
