He just wants to be able to say "I offered to fight a heavyweight" whenever people bring up "Jones is too scared to fight at HW".

I'd love to see Cain-Jones. Cain is similar to Cormier as well.

Won't happen though. Fedor in the UFC is more likely.

Nope. It's the same logic as Conor fighting Nate at 170. He wins, it's amazing. He loses, he was still "brave" to go up another weight class and his standing in the lower lhw pecking order remains intact. And he won't lose income by waiting.

Hahah he should pull a Conor and offer to fight Chael at heavyweight. That way, he can still go down to fight DC for the title even if he loses at HW.
 
I think he genuinely wants to make his name great again and taking a HW fight would win over a ton of fans he has lost due to his own stupidity
 
More chance of Fedor in the UFC? Don't kid yourself he's happy fighting F level competition in Japan, Fedor will never sign to a promotion that has drug testing in play.
 
Jones already said he's moving up to heavyweight after he beats DC and Rumble.

I don't like the idea of Rumble fighting Jones on short notice. I really hope Rumble has been training hard with cardio, if he expected this to happen.
 
This is what I was talking about last night when I said that he shouldn't be making decisions to try to pander to the fanbase.

You people preemptively shit on him for not wanting to fight at UFC 197, which would be a perfectly rational decision all things considered.

Now that he says that he does want to fight, you find reasons to shit on him anyway.

Not mention the fact that the credit for him taking the fight somehow belongs to McGregor because apparently no UFC fighter had ever taken a fight on short notice before UFC 196.

If Jones just got more and more huge and became the HW champ as well he would be so much more popular, there hasn't been a great HW champ in a while boxing or MMA

Cain want to beat up Travis and then get a title-fight in HW. I think that Cain see Jones as more difficult then Travis. What can Cain gain from taking on Jones, what if he loses then he might be out from the HW-title discussion for a couple of months. I mean Cain was just planned for a HW-title fight.
 
Id like to see h im vs Barnett or Nelson

Both winnable fights for him but would be awesome to see how he handles them
