There is recent "leak" of Strickland's sparring session with Oktagon's LHW/HW champion Will Fleury (234 lbs) and Stricklands is reportedly 230 lbs.



Is Strickland using his suspension to bulk up and move to LHW?

On a serious note I think the LHW top is full of horrible matchups for him.

Jiri knocks him out. Ankalaev dominates him. Rountree probably knocks him out. Murkazanov would dictate the fight. Even Oezdemir would probably beat him up standing.

Maybe hill is a good matchup and even that I'm not sure.
 
Saw who is holding the MW belt and realized he has a better shot of trying to not get murdered by Alex again or just praying he also moves up before he can get to a titleshot. That said, I don't think Sean would win enough fights to get a TS anyway

I think he has a better shot vs Khamzat then the top 5 at LHW.
 
Well, he's not making 170lbs and he doesn't have an optimistic future at 185lbs.
 
Am I the only one who thinks its stupid? Basically every LHW is like Pereira. Sure they aren't grapplers, but they have more power than MWs. I guess he has to do something to shake up his career, but we'll see if this is real. Strickland is the same height as Rountree, but clearly not bulked like him, going to have issues with range even more at LHW.

Jesus I don't know how many times this needs to be explained to people.

He's not in camp and he's got no fight lined up. Not uncommon at all to see middleweights balloon up to that weight with those things considered. A hard fight camp can easily knock him down 205-210ish and it's not that hard to cut water from there to make the 185 limit.

guess you never listened to any Strickland interviews , he said many times that he spars with anyone , in the past he sparred with Ankalaev, he didn't move to LHW then, he sparred with Ngannou , didn't go to HW either!!

Does Sean really sound like a guy who paid any attention to anything in school?
 
Sean should just go full Collier and get up to 245. Then again the UFC only wants exciting HW fighters so Sean would be 3-0 and out the door.
 
He isnt going to be going all the way in either division. In fact his prospects at LHW are probably worse than at MW.
 
I'm not saying it would happen, but how big of a melt down would the forum have if Strickland somehow fought Jones at LHW and beat him <lol>
