I dont really keep a track, but as you guys see here in Europe is a number 1 sport.

How you perceive it? Is it getting any attention like other popular sports or you dont really care?

In before the arguments begin and someone uses the term "real football...."

I just moved from Orlando where they renovated a stadium and created the Orlando City soccer team. People wear the jerseys, t-shirts everywhere and you see the bumper stickers on cars all over the place. All this for a brand new team.

Whenever there's a big international event like the World Cup or even the euro/America events, you see interest spike. There's still very limited interest in any professional league play. Immigrants and people who play/played soccer might follow It all the time. The rest wait until it's trending on their social media feeds and pick favorites based upon past vacations and their distant family ethnic backgrounds.

If Hillary gets in expect soccer to take over

BUILD THE WALL

I think it's a little more popular as more immigrants in it will grow.
Now me personally I don't follow it.

I know a couple of people that follow soccer, but they grew up in other countries.

I think it's only gotten more popular on the international level. It's a matter of national pride. I'm hoping I'm alive for the day the U.S wins the World Cup so I can see the world lose its shit.

It's not very popular around here. When they showed video from the high school tournaments there were hardly any people in the stands. I'd rather watch a diving competition in water than on grass.

Here in Utah we have an MLS team (Real Salt Lake) and it definitely has its fans, but on a national scale I haven't perceived any increase in the give-a-shit level for soccer.

I honestly don't think it will ever be a huge sport here, but I guess you never know. I personally have no interest in watching it unless I'm just hanging out with some friends at a game.

Nobody I know gives a shit about soccer. A lot watched the female USA team win in 2015 though.

My tinfoil theory is that soccer will never get popular here because there's not enough downtime for commercials. Basketball and especially football have constant breaks to plug products. Soccer doesn't give advertisers nearly the same amount of selling opportunities so they'll never give it a big push.

That being said, we might be getting an MLS expansion team and I'm interested in getting season tickets.

That day is coming. The improvement at the youth level in the last fifteen years has been extraordinary.

And once the United States wins one, they'll be hungry for more. Interest will bring money which will drive talent to play the beautiful game.

it's gotten a little more popular, but it won't ever break through and become a top sport in USA.

too slow, kinda the same reason baseball is falling off now.

It certainly is more popular than it has ever been. I don't follow it closely but I have been to a few games in the past. I don't think it will ever be as big as the NBA or MLB, but it will continue to get more popular as the population tastes and demographics change.

Its not really slow, it's just the rules make it very hard to score. If they got rid of the off-side rule scores would blow up, games would be 20 point plus events.

Most of the Major Metros have a soccer team now, and the players seem to make a decent enough living off of it. Northeast has five. California has two. Texas has two teams. Florida might get two. PacNorWest has two. Midwest has two. Canada has three. Mountain States have two. And they are looking to expand.

As more and more parents turn away from full contact football and ice hockey because of concussions, more and more kids will play soccer, and appreciate it on TV. But of course I still think Murican Football will still be king on TV too because as a spectator sport, it is hard to beat. But soccer will get popular enough for players to make a decent living off of, and that will draw kids and parents attention to it.
