Being called a cuck X years ago seems to have permanently affected you. Quite literally every post of yours is a panicked and unprovoked "I know you're a cuck, but what am I?!?" regardless of context.

I voted balanced simply because it fluctuates. Right now, it leans right. Six or eight years ago, it was mostly left. I have been here since 1999, made a profile in 2003, which disappeared and made another in 2005.

It has switched leanings quite a few times. It has a lot to do with who holds the White House. You get some that feel emboldened when their side is in the house, and they flood the site. Others will post more when they are out of favor, and they post to vent and rail against the potus.

someone may have made this point already (i didnt read through the whole thread) but the fact that 61 % of the votes are for the right leaning.....wouldnt that actually suggest that the site is more left leaning? In my opinion most people would vote against what their actual political leanings are (in a poll worded the way this one is). There are obvious exceptions to the rule, but I feel like its only human nature to vote in the way I suggested.

For what its worth I voted balanced as The vote in the election was pretty close to balanced, and I try to look at things in a logical manner when ever possible.

However if one were just to look at how many likes left leaning comments get compared to right leaning comments, I feel ( unscientifically) that based on that metric alone, one could come to the conclusion that the site is more left leaning.

Go through the comments on the first 2 pages of this thread. Look how many likes the anti right wing comments get compared to anti left wing comments get. Then compare that to the % of people that voted that the site is right leaning.....the numbers just dont back each other up. in my opinion.

Because its human nature to feel like (especially in a subject matter as divisive as politics) you are in the minority.
As i said look at the amount of likes pro left comments get compared to pro right comments just in the first 2 pages of this very thread. If things were anywhere close to the poll results, one could logically assume the amount of likes for right leaning comments would closely match the 60% number in the poll. Instead its pretty close to the opposite (if not more).
I agree with your point about it relating to the thread and who is involved.

Depends, I don't even really notice the names of a lot of the one and done guys or people who pop in here now and then from other subs. I'm as guilty of this as anyone, but I think we take this place too seriously. I just don't like people who are here primarily to disturb the peace, which is why I just block them. There is really no possibility that Europe emerges from this in a "fine" state. Yes, human life will continue to dwell there, but Europeans as a people have an impossible demographic outlook and even the new inhabitants of the continent will experience an averaging-out between European and sub-Saharan living standards for generations before it starts to recover again.

It's just a piece of land; it isn't immune to "third-world" phenomenon just because it's been a symbol of prosperity during your young sheltered life, where 20 years seems like a million.

It's quite dramatic in a historical context as well. The lost of old "Eastern Europe" (Anatolia, the Levant, etc) to the Islamic expansions was comparably mild in the sense that the expansionist groups were much closer ethnically and in terms of development to the previous inhabitants. Also far smaller quantities. The transformation of Scandinavia is going to be particularly catastrophic.

I really don't know how OK things must seem from Australia. You're in the very early stages of the American model and have a lot of grief ahead of you, both both of those models were more sane than what Europe is doing.

This was my thought as well. People notice more when their opinions are countered than when they are agreed with. It's jarring to have someone tell you something you have thought for a log time is bullshit. So it's easy to think a balanced forum leans against you.

I suppose the way to check this hypothesis would be to review the users who voted and roughly categorize them as right or left.
