He definitely seems weird. But it definitely also has a vibe that he's just cranking it to 11. Which if you're going for something to make you more interesting/more of a character is a much better option than just trying to be fake and hide what you are. But he definitely has people buying he's ultra unhinged. But I don't think he's quite as unhinged as he wants you to think he is.

I watched his old interviews (dude has been around for 14 years!), he definitely added a solid touch of acting. I don't get the thing, but if it works out, good for him.

The schmo is an obvious persona. It's literally a mask he takes off during his regular life and podcasts.

He's not trying to trick anyone. It's like hating an actor.
 
He's just seeking attention. He's playing the edgelord Jackass gimmick because he knows it will get the "hahahaha oooooh this guy is so edgy, hahahaha what a crazy dude" reaction.
