Is Sage still considered a quitter?

The last few months were all about how Sage was such a quitter and Cerrone was a total glass jaw/body who shuts down whenever someone hits him. Anyone could beat Cerrone so long as they touched him. He has no ability to weather adversity.

I wonder what happened...

Because all of a sudden the quitter talk has died down. Its almost like Sage's tap doesn't look so quick anymore (especially with him being sick) and Cerrone looks all the more impressive for surviving three rounds of this without being rocked.

He did quit in his last fight.

He is only 19 though, lets see his next couple fights.

That said, yes quitter.

If he quits quitting, can we praise him

That word is starting to sound funny.

Well he has not fought again so how exactly are we suppose to know ?

People need to learn that tapping is what you're supposed to do. It's not indicative of jack shit. The majority of subs end in taps. The VAST majority.

The only people I've actually seen at the bar who hate on guys who tap look like my refrigerator, which fits the description around here.

Thinly-veiled Conor's a Straight Up Quitter thread?

1. Conor was actually being choked, Sage was not.

2. Diaz>>>>Barberena

3. No one ever said Cerrone has a glass jaw, it's that he's vulnerable to body strikes, which is true because he's had surgeries there.

Exactly. And all these armchair clowns don't know what the choke even was... World class BJJ guys have explained that it was a legit choke. Also he was sick.

Not at all. Ive trained for long enough to know no pro fighter is a quitter and anyone in the UFC can weather adversity. Its just funny to see people's paradigm shift as to what is considered quitting.

Yea, I don't get it either. Once in a while someone will not tap to a sub and everyone is like "WHAT A TRUE WARRIOR!" and I'm like, "WTF?"

Go have a match with Mir and pull the no tap shit.

All hail, Mr Gracie.

2. Diaz>>>>Barberena

True but not exactly relevant, I wonder what Conor was doing at 19?

Everyone is vulnerable to a fucking liver shot, him a little more so because he stands so tall. He did take some flush shots to the body from Barboza, Martins, Guillard, etc.

I guarantee you he goes to sleep the next time a choke is slapped on him. He's a young kid, at least he's gonna improve from it. Btw...

I don't care what keyboard warriors think a quitter is.

Unless Sage did a re-do in Barberena's garage and didn't tap, he's still a quitter from where I sit.

Who?

Oh yes, the guy everyone made daily threads about and called "future goat". And now that he lost, we haven't heard a pin drop of his name becuase all the fanboys jumped ship lol

Having done BJJ and trained at Jackson-winks since 2008...sure people need to learn when to tap. Sage should not have tapped there. I would be all over my beginning grappling students for tapping there. There was no reason to tap at that point and time to try to work out of it.

I was talking in a more general sense. If Holly had tapped instead of going to sleep, nobody would be saying shit.
