Cupid run, Singles run, The musical run, the 5k erotic run, the 5k after dusk, the 5k after dawn, the running for no reason race, the 4k for cancer, the 5k for saving the animals, the 5k for saving the planet..

Has it seriously come down to this?

Back in the day we used to go to parties, go to raves, get drunk, do drugs, have sex, and socialize for 12 hours.
What happened to the fun?
 
You just named a bunch of races. If you run, I guess that is a good way of meeting someone else that runs
 
When I ran in school for some reason I got to meet a bunch of Girls that were way out of my League.
 
Beats those charity runs where the bigger gets to run or do a triathlon and you're supposed to pay money because, it's like, for charity and stuff. 50% of that money goes toward some egotistical twat having a fun day at the park, 40% toward some executive at a tax exempt corporation's pocket book, 5% toward engagement for the volunteers who actually do work at said organization, and then maybe 5% toward starving Rwandan children with hookworms or whatever.
 
This explains why women run when I show up.
 
Yeah joining running groups is a great way. I'd advice people who graduate to do this among joining other athletic things. If you hate running there is always other things like rowing, and many water sports which are social.

I had no idea that this phenomenon existed.
 
mud runs, color runs, its all so strange...

even running in a regular marathon is weird to me. why the fuck am i gonna pay to do that when i can just... do that. i mean unless i plan on placing, which obviously almost no one does.
 
I run by myself for cardio. I don't do any stupid races. I used to run for competition. Fuck all those casuals.
 
Walking a cute dog is a sure fire way to meet people.
