I look at rap and how stale it has become. Basically the same shit for the past 20 years, except the rappers themselves keep getting dumber and less creative. This leads me to believe that maybe rap is the first indestructible music genre. Usually when genres become stale and unable to evolve they end up dying like classical, jazz, blues, disco, rock etc. But rap seems immune to that fate. The more uninspired, dumb, and stale it becomes the more popularity it gains. It's like a subtle hint of the idocracy we've become, the fact that the dumbest music mankind has created will be the one that outlives all the rest.

Bach still gets ripped off in popular muscular, ~300 years later. Not to mention his pieces still get covered, the workd around.

They are worked around and muscular.

Rappers are some of the best Lyricism and poet out there.

that's the crazy thing you think if them classical dudes were capable of stringing some lyrics together it would be any different

fucking Mozart lyrics for requiem are basically a hornier version of slob on my knob

This should have been my wedding song in hindsight...

None of the genres you mentioned have died though. Sure they may get less air play from bullshit radio stations only teen girls listen to, or aren’t featured in the latest advert for some shit you don’t need but live classical, jazz, blues, rock is available in every major city tonight. The very suggestion they have died is ludicrous

I still enjoy rap, but most rappers are just straight up shit humans. They all keep getting murdered or shot for their chains & they’re still too stupid to learn from that lol I listen to lil t jay & he literally raps about stealing chains then gets shot like 9 times for his chain. It’s hard to get attached to any rapper because odds are he’ll be dead soon

20 years (43 years) is a very short time in music history. A lot of genres are much older. Current mainstream changes often. But, older genres exist, are still being played, and are enjoyed around the world.

People still rock out to stuff from the 60s and 70s...

It is nowhere near what it was but it isn't going anywhere. Mainly because there is no alternative for black music. People that like rap are generally not fans of the garbage R&B that is out, and they usually don't jump to white music like rock or country. Rap is where Metal was in the late late 80s....it is derivative and unoriginal. The talent lacks as producers stepped in and ruined it. Guys like Khalid "Another one!" yeah another one that sucks. Hair Metal turned into grunge and evolved. Rap will need to do the same as it's appeal has dropped to mainstream. Many stations have stopped playing it.

It peakd in the 90s and early 20s. Been a drastic declining ever since

Was rap really that big though? I saw a list where the only rap albums on the 100 best selling were 2 eminem albums. Nothing else.

Classical didn't become stale. Intellectual elite behind the production of live shows became increasingly insecure about being compared to the greats and devolved into the mental gymnastics needed to justify subjecting audiences to modern and post modern shit-tier hammering. Audiences, committed to the art culturally, still turn out to listen to some pussy-ass composer's dissonant, mathematics based perversion. The most popular classic music shows are where they are playing Halo or LOTR music. The morons in charge of the arts departments at major symphonies think it is because the audience has grown uneducated and stupid, but that's far from the case. It's because the music they continue to produce is hot trash they don't even listen to themselves.

I like Kodak Black, he’s versatile and makes different sounding tracks in different styles, switches up his flow, the musicality is there.
